It's bad enough when a single press release Q'n'A gets rehashed as three articles by removing the Q's. But the same article, three times, in the top third of the page.

That's only because it is the most recent. Any new stories will replace it in 'breaking news' and any new F1 story will bump it in the F1 section, and at editor's discretion something will move it out of Today's top stories. If Helio Castroneves had gone to jail he'd have been been the top motorsport story, the latest entry in breaking news, and the top story.
That's what happens on a Thursday of a non-GP week.
