Full Version: Extra forum section?: Racing collectables

Hi you all,

Perhaps a nice idea to create an extra forum section where we can share photos/comments of Racing collectibles?
possible new forum section where we can post photos of our collections (model cars and model bikes etc.) and discuss related subjects.

Some more examples of possible threads which can be placed in this new section: Racing books/brochures - Racing paintings - Racing parts

Suggestions are welcome! Maybe an admin is willing to this idea??? Thanks!!!!! smile.gif

Having read this idea, I actually like it like it a lot. I have suggested it to the rest of the Moderation team to see what they think also.

At the moment, we are not sure where on the current forum it could sit. Options as I see it are;

1) As a sub forum of Grand Prix Travelling

2) As a sub forum of For Sale and Wants Adverts

3) As a sub forum of Nostalgia

4) Combine it into Grand Prix Travelling and rename

5) Create a new title forum of it's own.

Another issue is what to call it and the strap line that sits underneath.

I'm not promising anything as yet, but I would like to see some suggestions and comments to the above to see if we can take this idea further.

3) As a sub forum of Nostalgia

I'll go for that, and mod it accordingly if needed.

However, is it worth considering the overall time-scale? By that I mean that TNFers would be more interested, IMHO, in hearing about pre-1990 (at the latest!) memorabilia than later. So would it be pertinent to suggest a more recent (i.e. post-1990?) sub-forum attached to, I don't knew, RC possibly?

Food for thought? Count me in on one aligned to TNF regardless, as I'm sure that's a good move... smile.gif

I already thought that in the Nostalgia would be right so think 3) or 5) would be great. Thanks for helping! up.gif

Well after a lot of discussion and work, the Racing Collectables forum is open for business. You can find it as a sub forum of The Nostalgia Forum.

I wonder ....

In view of recent comments on TNF regarding the "book thread" would it be worth extending the scope to "Racing collectables and books"? I appreciate that the existing "Pete Fenelon ~" thread would need considerable editing and splitting.
