Full Version: GTR2 evo the best?

I wonder if this might be one of the best PC games ever....here's why...

1....Graphics look pretty good and is geared towards gritty and realistic rather than pretty and cartoony like GRID.
2...works extremely well with my xbox 360 controller{not recommended you play this with your KB}
3...engine sounds are pretty good
4...has at least 7 great cars+another 3-5 very good ones....and also has a number of cars which don't appeal to me, but might appeal to others.

Ferrari Enzo*.....330kph
Ferrari F40 racing*
Corvette
Saleen
BWM extrreme WTCC.....290kph{handling machine+ 10 000rpm gear changes}
Mazda*....345kph
Conisegg....355kph

* free DLC via mod community

5.....Has 60+ tracks including the incredible Nordschielfe{sp}
7....enables you to vary no of opponents and opponent skill level, ie, 80-105%, thus between the cars, the tracks, the skill level adjustments and the ability to vary the length of races, gameplay is almost endless.

8.....cockpit view has a strong sense of realism and includes bumps, shakes and vibrations.
9....has novice, semi-pro and pro modes....and with xbox controller and in novice mode, is very easy to drive and immediately have fun, but does have a learning curve if you want to go pro and drive competitively.
10....AI very good.....not perfect, but pretty good.

I can see myself playing this indefinitely, and until something comes out that blows it away, I'll be playing and enjoying it.

FYI....I'm at 1920x1200 16xAF and level 2 AA with most of the in game settings maxed on my 4850.

No evo fans here?
The Corvette is a real gem....great cockpit view with bulky and tacky American rollcage, V8 sound and low down torque, and a good package, ie, good power, brakes and handling.
EVO also has a reasonable "heavy rain" option.

Evo is also worth it for the Nordschifle track....an incredible track with a monster straight and heaps of awesome corners.

I just do PC racing sims and GTR Evo is very good. I'm more of an open wheel racing fan but the ancient, but kept up to date by modders GPL is my very favourite.

I was looking for a good racing simulation, and just ordered it. The track selection looks very interesting, with some familiar names from the history of F1. I hope it's realistic to drive, at last it was recommended here. I hope it's something to drive for the next 10 years instead of one of those trash bin things. I tried GP4 when it came out, but it was dissapointing since GP3. GPL is still on top of my list.

Cant it like be downloaded some where?
simpson
Yes, you can get the demo at http://www.bhmotorsports.com/GPL/downloads/3239

There's only one of the Papyrus tracks in the demo but you can add the other third party ones as well as add the newer car mods. The GPL CD is pretty cheap at the link above if you feel that you want the whole thing.
