You know I'm starting to think that the "Green Flag (approx.)" really means that's when the order to start engines is given, cos that's what's just happened.
I think it's been so for several races I've watched.
Hey, guess what? This will NOT be a fuel mileage race!

OMG! Listen to this:
JPM reports that "it came in really fast. It's REALLY GOOD in the centers.... maaaaybe a little loose."
Well it is still very early. But I can't remember when Juan has ever been remotely as complimentary of his car's handling like this!

That sounds good. It is center of the corner where the COT needs perfect setup to work. "Maybe a little loose" should be ok.

Bristol is in the chase right? ...
Biffle said last week that they should replace Talladega from the chase with Walkins glen..
I agree..

Stewart went a lap down.. why didn't he go to the rear like they've been doing lately?
Did you guys see that camera shot at the beginning. With the camera doing the panoramic view, seeing that little track surrounded by a "sea" of people. That got me pumped up!!

He was on pit road as the cars took the green I believe.
on RaceView, the Blue #2 of Busch is invisible, so they talk about him, but he can't be seen...sometimes the cars act weird and then I think, OH there must be a car there.
Whoops he's back. Good.

As I've said before, JPM, when he has a bad car, gets killed coming off the corners.
Now, running 4th with JJ behind him, I can see JJ closing up really close on entry, then JPM easily pulling a car length and a half coming off.
So it really shows the importance of "backing up" the corner. Or as DW says in his retarded way, "you gotta slow down to go fast."
It seems in some cases the point at which one can get back on the throttle is more important than the braking point.

Hey, we're not even one fifth of the way through! ANYone can run in the top 10 for the first fifth of a race.

Brian preaching equipment conservation every few laps on the radio...JJ gets by for 5th.
JPM reported pedal was getting a little long after the first run.

I was just saying..
But Bristol is very demanding for the drivers.. Kenseth and Newman and of course Speed could not hang.. I think then did something to Kenseth's car though because he was running with Biffle up front before the stops..

It's still watchable somehow. Just "rubber banding" occasionally which is a bit ghey when watching racing.

Thanks for the info though. Appreciate it.
Btw it's getting better now as all the lame a$$ Euros are probably fading out and the stress on the stream reduces.

The Busch brothers look strong tonight. Both moved up quite impressively. I kinda think one of them might sneak their way to victory this time. Crossing fingers for JPM t stay out of trouble and maybe get a top5. That would be awesome.

Hear, hear. I think JPM is about the 3rd-5th fastest car on the track right now.
If he can save his equipment, he'll be around to challenge for the win.
If nothing else, save for a mistake, he'll be top-10 "for sure."
Marcos Ambrose deserves a shout for running 8th, has been as high as 7th I believe.
I think road course success and success at Bristol are highly correlated...look who's strong at Bristol....Kyle, Juan, Marcos....

Marcos sure has learned how to run fast on short tracks, which gave him lots of trouble early on. In previous Bristol race top 10 with ailing engine. That´s good for him...doing well in Bristol makes NASCAR people pay attention.

JPM says car gets tighter and tighter as the laps tick by, brakes are definitely getting softer/longer. He's trying not to use them much but when he does, they're fading. Not bad though, more like as expected.
Car gets looser and looser on exit as well during a run. Juan calls it "rear steer."
Also reminding that tyres chattered at beginning of last run.
Lost two spots on pit road to 10th. He was passed by Truex and McMurray in the last stint.
OfficeLinebacker
Aug 23 2009, 01:20
nm He's 9th. Some spots around him got jumbled. I think he was just 10th cos someone stayed out to lead a lap.
I think they dropped one of the tyres by a half a pound. Now they're complimenting Truex on being fast.

Teams very concerned about a tearoff that was only ripped halfway off of the 2. Bowyer and Juan's teams are both mentioning it.
Looked like that tearoff went into the fence.

Ambrose reports he's "lost forward drive." Monty passed by Hamlin for 8th.

JPM fastest car lap 352.
Seems to me he should save equipment when he's in an even position and not try too hard to catch the guy in front, but push when he's being caught up;
basically save/push based on even/odd running position!

Something like top 10 or even top 15 would retain that nice "cushion" he has in points standings ATM. With only two races to till the Chase is locked, that´s all he needs.

JPM just nerfed Ambrose out of the way. They didn't show it.
Now by Truex fairly easily for 6th.
There's so gonna be at least one more caution. What's the cut to pit then? Being P10 with 50 laps to go?

Only 20 cars on the lead lap.

You hear a lot about chatter in bike racing, I guess it could happen in Nascar too.
