Now Williams wanting to get rid of Toyota engines, not archievement of the demanded win and the fact that the results of the team are getting worse and worse, Toyota could well be the other team that leaves this season

It appears obvious to me Toyota likely isn't in F-1 next year.

Thats what I think too... likely why Williams looking for new engine supplier.

Trulli says money is not an issue, maybe the inferior equipment he has to drive is?

Q. If you didn't have a seat would you continue in other categories or would you concentrate on your vineyards?

JT: I think it is too early to say. I really am a driver and still feel I am very quick and I want to keep racing. Definitely I want to drive but it depends on how and where. I have always been racing for the top. I never drove for a top team, but I have always put myself in the top five so I think that is my target. I want to see what I can achieve.

Toyota might not be impressed with that comment.

Toyota is not a top team, never has been. Once they decided to be more stable with their drivers they've moved up the grid. Jarno is not the problem.

Toyota's F1 future hanging in the balance:

If they are after a turnaround in sales to allow them to continue, they are gone for sure. No wonder Williams want out.

I had a brain fade yesterday and actually thought Trulli had retired from Formula 1 last season, I completely could not think who he drove for and hadn't seen him for ages or heard anything from him so assumed he had retired.
Ross Stonefeld
You know he's been on pole lol.gif

Better options on the market I reckon.

Kubica, Heidfeld and perhaps Raikkonen.

Trulli's had a good lash at Formula 1.

They want Trulli, they just don't want to pay him.

And if they can't afford Trulli, they can't afford any of those drivers either.

Where u take that.
Trulli says money is no problem for him.
Atreiu
How much does Trulli want/get?

Jimisgod
So, having whined about the cost cap, FOTA is quickly breaking down. BMW. Check. Toyota... down.gif

From Howett saying that Toyota will need to severely cut their budget for next season.

Trulli might not be motivated by money, but he isn't going to drive for free either.

To be honest, I'm surprised that Toyota haven't quit the sport yet. The constant years of being in the midfield with the biggest budget of all the teams must be extremely damaging to the Toyota brand. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mercedes, Ferrari and Cosworth being the only engine suppliers in 3 years. Whoever said F1 was in danger of becoming DTM seems to be indeed correct.

When Honda joined F1 (as a full team), I expected a spectacular battle between the two Japanese giants with money being no object... I really thought they would be dominant forces in F1. Oops. Honda blinked first last year and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Toyota follow suit this year...

Atreiu, I was reading a piece possibly year Schumacher retired, Trulli earns per year £4 million. Then around middle of the road.

Well. he's right. He should have stayed for Renault in 2005 and 2006, he was beating Fernando in 2004 in the early part of the year, until his performances were halted (after the 2004 French Grand Prix, where Barrichello overtook him at the last corner. And he was not the same racer we had saw in the early to mid 2004 season. Yes, the 2004 Spa Pole, but that was a gamble on the tires.). Then Flavio had to "protect" Fernando...

Williams wants the glory days back, and they ain't going to get it with Toyota.... Maybe Renault. Williams Renault would be very good to see once again!

Well he was fired ...

I thought I already posted in this thread, but I think Trulli is one of the best second tier drivers out there, and with the right team can still be a force in F1. Ferrari should buy him from Toyota for the rest of the season as he'd do better than Fisico, DC or Gene.
