Do we think people like Barrichello, Fisichella and Kubica will be praying for no SC? Because if there is a SC in the first few laps, there race I would say is partially screwed.

This may also be the reason why Kovalainen, Alguersuari, Grosjean and Nakajima are filled up to 3/4 distance in the hope that SC mixes up the order further.

I think people are underestimating Heidfeld as well. I'd say it's 50/50 between Trulli and Nick for the win, they should pit on the same lap, IMO it's all about whether Nick takes advantage of the clean side of the grid to get by Trulli or if Trulli can hold him off. I hope Nick follows Webber's example and takes his first win, it's his time biggrin.gif

I also hope Nick takes the win and I think he has a good chance. It's about time. He must overtake Trulli to make that happen though. We must not underestimate Trulli, I think his car is the most proven fast corner car this year. It's just a guestion if he can drive consistently enough. He has done some very good races this year so a Trulli win is definitely possible, and considering his strategy and starting positions, I think we should say he is the favorite.

Kimi has a chance too, but it's hard to predict who are fast because it's all the wrong guys in front. There may be some danger from behind, Sutil was very fast in the practise, Red bulls should be strong too.

why are so many people thinking this is Kimi's race?

Because through history theres just something about the combo of a certain track and driver - Graham Hill or Senna at Monaco and one never discounts Shumacher and Kimi at Spa.

I don't believe in luck but it does seem to have some sway in the matter.

Force India really made a mistake for not calling Fisi in to the pits and letting him finish that last lap. It was clear that he had the pole position before he finished he last qualifying lap and they let him finish it instead of calling him directly in to save some fuel like Mclaren did with Hamilton in Valencia qualify. He could have saved fuel for another lap.

I'm not an Alonso fan(well I admire him a lot but don't support him), my nick is satirical to the way some commentators pronounce the "s" in his name, which shouldn't be pronounced as "z" I guess.

Don't worry, everybody knows micra_k10 is on the active Alonso haters wagon. So he will try to attack anybody on this topic. lol.gif

Well it's probably not going to have a significant effect on the race, and it is the first time they've been in that situation, so give em a break roflmao.gif

Yeah the fact that it was there first time in such situation is understandable but you never really know if it won't make a difference. Every second counts in F1. Who knows he might have good pace at the race and lose the victory because of that one lap.

I think the done thing is to use KERS on the run down to Eau Rouge for some extra momentum up the hill. Once you're on the straight you're on the limiter in 7th anyway, so KERS is no use.

I think we will see a first Toyota victory tomorrow, people are underestimating Trulli

I agree, Toyota looks strong here. Glock may be coming from behind, if he survives the first lap unscathed. Trulli is in a good position to win if he manages to keep his place at the start. Raikkonen may be a problem, but it remains to be seen how much ground he can make up in the first lap and how good his pace will be after that.

Trulli and Kimi are joint favourites for the win tomorrow with the bookies.

Are you honestly claiming that the concept of trulli-train is not born out of merit? He´s been very fast qualifier but on races totally hopeless on many occasions.

If Kimi gets past Jarno in the first lap he has a good chance for a victory.

If you run to the limiter on 7th they have the gearing wrong. You need to leave some spare revs for slipstreaming passes even in cars without KERS. Kimi stated someplace that the best bet on lap 1 is to use all KERS reserves right after Eau Rouge.

Do you guys think Button will make it into the points?

I believe the regulations only allow KERS to be used to get to the top speed quicker and not to increase the top speed itself.

I think he can. Toyota have proven that it can be done with Glock. If Hamilton gets the jump, he should be fighiting the Red Bulls, which puts them one place closer to Button. He's running heavy, which he likes, and he's taking a more aggressive approach this time. Barrichello might be in fourth, but he's a hell of a lot closer on a fuel-adjusted grid. I think he can do it. It doesn't matter where he finishes, so long as he is in front of Vettel and Webber.

there is no rule like that

If you have spare revs then you are not going fast enough.

A 2005 concept when Trulli regularly qualified top 5 among the faster Renault and McLaren cars, unless one expected a Toyota to be the fastest - at start of the 2005 season when the car was among the best there was no Trulli train.

If you're not on the limiter you're not going fast enough. There are so few opportunities for slipstreaming in F1 that they'd be compromising their pace to 'leave some spare revs'.
