Very sad. The Manx is one of my favourite events. The mountain course without the crowds and bustle of the TT. Haven't been for a few years now but I always follow it online. I understand that Richard came from Longfield Hill, local to me, which somehow seems to make it more poignant, although I'm not sure why.
