Can anyone tell me what the food situation at the track is like.
is it similar to what was at Fuji circuit last year.
i have food issues, and need to know whether i have to bring my own lunch or not, that's all.

Hmmm, I guess it'll be the usual Japanese Fast Food - meat on a stick, meat with rice, bento (like a lunchbox), seafood and sandwiches.
I'm hoping there will be an okanamiyaki place - cabbage, egg, noodles all mixed up in a pancake. Glorious!
If in doubt bring your own

I grabbed an okonomiyaki in Tempaku-ku, Nagoya
That's about as close to the track as you will find them.

planning for 2010 already...
first... tickets. where is the official website for Suzuka??? I'd rather purchase directly from the source rather than dealing with a third party.
thanks in advance.
it all seemed very difficult, i ended up having to book a package tour. i could've booked tickets from australia with a tour company, but the whole getting grandstand tickets and securing hotel accomodation was just all to difficult. i spent weeks on hotel web sites trying to secure rooms for nagoya, and it just never worked out. ended up jumping on a "sort of " package tour, where they had hotels already secure, got the sesat that we wanted and helped us with the transport from nagoya station to the track everyday. that was a little complicated, and i would hate to do it without help. that would be difficult if you don't know what you are doing. but if you want to stay at a local hotel, which of course is terribly priced because it is F1 you don't have much choice. i looked at booking independtley with everything, and in the end, the package tour ended up at similar prices, but at least we got the help in the area's that i wasn't confident with. this certainly wasn't a cheap trip. PM me if you want more details.
there was lots of noodles of course, chips, chicken wings, noodle soups, curries. this was at the main village behind the main grandstand. over on the other side behind the S's the food was a bit more down to earth, hamburgers, more noodels, vegetable pancakes, kebab sticks, or the asian version of this.... no problems at all. i'm a fussy eater, and i ate well every day. if you don't want to eat local foodstuffs, just go to the 7/11 or the patisierries' at the station, heaps of sandwiches available, croissants. they don't search your bags at all, you can take all food stuffs in with you. water even cheap, well cheaper than singapore anyway. they even had a mini-version of 7/11 at the track under the main grandstand, ice-creams, all drinks cold, sunscreen and merchandise.
not a lot of sushi in Nagoya, that was the thing i found strange though. heaps of beer available. No wine...... heaps of noodles, and curries,
