Those of you interested in an affordable but functional CAD system might be interested to hear that, for a limited time, Alibre has reduced the price of their Solidworks competitor to $99 from $999. It's a permanent license and the deal is being done to gather market share.
I don't use the system myself, being a CATIA driver, but I know there's more than a few members who might be interested. Do your own research on whether the package is any good, but it certainly has secured plenty of column inches for the company on the CAD blogs.

I know alibre, it's full of viruses and trojans and a couple of large companies went bankrupt from the damage to their whole network system. I hear it was a good part of the reason for the 2008 financial collapse too.
I heard also that some of the female secretaries got VD after using it too although that was not long after the office Xmas party but they swear it was from using alibre.
Nah, not for me I'm going to continue to steal from honest hard working programmers/developers from pirate sites on the net, much safer than shitty alibre and free as well.
