Hey guys I'd love to give oval racing a try. Does anyone know a good oval racing game for the PC? (Could be Indy Racing League or Nascar). Prefered with an online mode.

I can't speak from experiance on this subject so therefor this topic.

Thanks in advance.

If you can grab a copy of Nascar Racing Season 2003 by papyrus from ebay or some outlet that ships 'old' games, I think it's still the best. Plus there are tons of mods. -- Dale Junior used to play there, he even shared setup tips ; but I hear he departed for the newish iRacing subscription-based online sim (done by the same guy that nr2003, by the way).

iRacing seems pretty good, I just can't afford the subscription *for the moment*. smile.gif

If you are willing to pay a few dollars per month then iRacing cannot be beat, but remember competition is online only.

Alright thanks guys. I think I'll try iRacing for a month then. Don't like the monthly fee but well, hope it's worth it ;p

The oval racers from my on-line sim racing league site used Nascar Racing Season 2003 for several years, either NASCAR or Craftsman trucks.

But as the other road racing and dirt car leagues now use rFactor, they have tried various rF oval mods over the last two years. They now feel that all rF oval mods have some problems, either with the feel of the cars compared to NR2003, or with the implementation of oval-specific rules for yellow flags, pit closure, longest line etc.

There are now about to try ARCA (www.arcaracing.com). ARCA and the subscription based iRacing these appear to be the two best oval sims currently available.

I have played iracing. I have found it the best so far. By the end of the 2nd day, my eyes were bloodshot. I played it way too much!

Not sure it is relevant, but Grand Prix Legends is full of oval add-ons. And it's free.
I am currently enjoying long runs on the Monza Bankings, but modern tracks are available too.
