I am also developing an 1/5 917k (rc car), but unfortunately I still don't have many vehicle drawings. I went last year to Porsche Museum to take collect information of the vehicle and specially of an stripped engine. I have started with engine design (it will have a 4 stroke real engine).
As vehicle purpose is it will work, tyres are really a problem. Did you made your own tyres?

Very nice to see al this work done over the Porsche 917. I know the work Rijk put in so far and is impressive. But the work macepijel is also wonderfull. Both are building the model from scratch in scale 1 to 5. I'm also into building a Porsche 917K. Since the spaceframe is such an important piece for this Porsche I decided to make my own spaceframe in 1 to 24 scale. I use the Fujimi Martini Porsche as a base. Here's my work so far...
