From James Allen's blog:
QUOTE
On the driver market rumour front, Robert Kubica’s name has been linked with Renault, while Fernando Alonso has been sounding out Brawn. Remember that he had extensive talks with Brawn and with Nick Fry about moving to the team this time last season when it was Honda. They made a real play for him and how he must be regretting his decision to stay at Renault.. but he would be looking for a one year deal and the money might be a bit of a problem.

Interesting, but it's still anyone's guess. If Button wins this year, a Brawn lineup of a World Champion and a double World Champion would have some major pulling power.
AMuS did an article on Rosbergs options for next year.
McLaren; NR thinks they will be competitive but doesn't want to play second fiddle to Hamilton.
BMW; he questions if they will be competitive next year with next years rules being basicly the same as this year.
Brawn; he also questions if they can sustain their current pace, if they will have the resources, and he will not be no.2 to Button
Williams; have shown very good pace this year and if they keep up the development they could be a contender. He is compfortable here.
AMuS hypes him a lot. I'm not so sure that he will have these choices.

I keep my fingers crossed

Something has to change in the chemistry between Robert and the team for sure. It's pretty much on cold feet right now. It seemed all bound for something great, but as it is now both of them don't get any step further. It might be a good idea to start over and go separate ways.

How about Heidfeld to Brawn GP in place of Barichello? With his smooth style, great racecraft and amazing reliability and consistency he would fit them perfectly.
Kubica has a few options: Renault, Williams, maybe even McLaren and Ferrari. But he as well could end nowhere. It's a cruel sport.

http://www.corsaonline.com.ar/2009/07/30/N...-del-al-ain.phpEsteban Guerrieri is in talks with Manor to get into F1 next year. He raced for them in F3 in 2006. For the ones who can`t read spanish, the article I link above says that guerrieri, who entered Super League Formula in round 2 at Zolder and is this weekend at Donington for third round, met John Booth on tuesday. Manor's chief told him that they have the budget (one of their main sponsors is Virgin so I guess that company is leaving Brawn for next season?), that the car will be finished for December and they will start testing on mid-January. Besides, Booth said that they still hasn't taken any decision on the drivers they will have. Guerrieri and Booth have a very nice relationship: the Argetinean says that he helped him a lot to continue racing in Europe back then. Apart from that, in a recent meeting, Carlos Reutemann told the Argentinean that he will help him as much as he can to get into F1. Reutemann has a lot of contacts in F1, specially with Bernie Ecclestone; and Guerrieri has been frequently compared to him because of his ability as a car developer.

Hi guys!
Fist post here but have been reading a year or so...
The return of MS made me start posting. Never been a fan but hugely respect his skills! Due to this, GREAT seeing him again in F1.
So what is the chance getting MS to compete 2010?
And if FIA decide having 3 cars on the grid, the chance getting bigger.
btw, with MS back on the grid, Jenson taking the title or not seems not to be a relevant question anymore. I LIKE TO SEE MS BATTELING WITH ALONSO/LEWIS/KIMI

Oopps! I left Trulli in two spots!

Let's try again:
Red Bull-Mercedes: Vettel Webber
Brawn-Mercedes: Button Senna

McLaren-Mercedes: Hamilton Rosberg
Williams-Toyota: Trulli Hulkenberg

I agree that Bourdais was disappointing, but USF1 needs the "American" connection and Bourdais has that following here in the US. He also knows the tracks already and he has driven a 2009 spec F1 car, unlike Wurz. So his feedback could be beneficial for a start up constructor as he has a baseline in a crap Torro Rosso to compare with. Piquet jr may get the Campos drive because of sponsorship and his last name, not because he has shown anything over the past 18 months to prove he is worthy of a F1 drive.

With but a few top seats for 2009 still up for grabs — well, officially — it's time for an overview of the 2010 Silly Season. Here's my first guess, but feel free to add or delete where applicable.
12. Sebastian Vettel (moves to mother team; on a multi-year deal?)
About the starting numbers: Kubica winning the 2009 WDC is just a guess; Toyota should finally be able to beat Renault, although this might be wishful thinking; Newey's Red Bull-Ferrari beats Williams, Honda and the sister team's Toro Rosso-Renault.

My guess would be that if there's an opening at Brawn, he could find himself there. He's quick (when he has a good car), he has experience under his belt unlike someone such as Senna and he's nowhere near as expensive as some of the others like Alonso and Raikkonen.
I wonder why so many see Kimi out in 2010. He clearly overcame his Q issues this year, his race pace is there if he is allowed to race in clear air, he deserves that seat as much as Felipe.
But most importantly, he himself says he stays in Ferrari in 2010 before the decision will be made upon his future.

Grosjean and Kubica at Renault
Heidfeld has Mercedes connections but they're probably dead now so probably Rosbot in the Mclaren. If Williams still need Japanese drivers to keep the Toyota engine then unless they have somebody else up their sleeve I wouldn't be surprised if they got Heidfeld back there as I know they rated him highly when he was driving.
Kimi's getting ditched: had him at BMW but if not I can see him disappearing for good - shame. Massa in the other Ferrari and the 3 - 4? - new teams picking up you Liuzzis, Davidsons, etc.

KubicaNow that would be "explosive", especially at Renault with Alonso/Kubica!
Heidfeld (who is very good! unlike the anti-Heidfeld bashers would suggest) would be a logical appointment at Brawn or Williams. Lower ranked teams like Toro Rosso and Force India, and the new teams, would all certainly make offers to Heidfeld also.
Captain Tightpants
Jul 31 2009, 13:58
Heidfeld is consistent, but he's not race-winning material. How is he the logical choice for teams like Brawn, who need big names and big talent to secure sponsorship? Show me one flash of brilliance in all his years, just one that makes him a more convincing candidate than the likes of Robert Kubica or Fernando Alonso or Bruno Senna. Right now, all Heidfeld is good for is joining someone like Manor Grand Prix who will need an experienced driver to anchor themselves around. If Barrichello leaves, Ross Brawn might make an unconventional choice, but one that will ultimately make sense. Right now, Nick Heidfeld has the unenviable title of being the man with the most points without a win in the history of the sport: in one hundred and sixty starts and with two hundred and six points to his name, he has never graced the top step of the podium. He also happens to be the third-ranked driver in terms of the number of starts without a win, coming in behind Martin Brundle and Andrea de Cesaris. "Almost" pretty much defines his career, so how does he have the goods that Brawn are looking for. They want someone competitive, not someone to simply fill up a racing seat. They'd be better of keeping Barrichello - who isn't bad, despite his slump in form this season - than investing in Heidfeld.
QUOTE (Atreiu @ Jul 31 2009, 23:55)

Honda should really get Lorenzo, even if it means setting up a team for him. They have taken steps foward with their bike and snatching J-LO would force Yamaha into gambling somewhat with the riders for the FIAT and Tech 3 teams. Honda should keep Dovizioso as well, his win at Donington spekas volume and he has done well so far.
With such scenario, Honda would have Pedrosa, Dovizioso, Lorenzo, Simoncelli (signed for Gresini) and possibly Melandri under their rams in 2010. That's a very deep talent pool to ride an improved bike after a full season adapting over the spec tyres.

Uh, this has mostly been discussing the Formula One silly season. Yours is the first post I've seen discussing MotoGP ...

Okay, if Heidfeld is useless, that means that all the teammates he had at Prost, Jordan, or Williams or BMW were useless as well... because he matched all of them, if not beat them...
So Alesi... useless. Raikkonen... useless... Felipe Massa... useless... Heinz Harald Frentzen...useless... Timo Glock, Pantano, Mark Webber, Jacques Villeneuve...

The only way I see Kimi in a F1 car in 2010 is if Massa cannot race again. I think he wants to Rally, and is bored of F1. Ferrari are buying him out of his contract it seems to get Alonso in the car. But if Massa cannot go in 2010, then perhaps Kimi will race again? I hope so! With Alonso leaving Renault, Kubica would be a good fit as the number 1 driver, with Grosjean backing him up.
