Full Version: Better swan song than Button? JVi in a Brawn?

I think Button has given it his all since 2004, and deserves the car he was given this year, BUT

Imagine if JV had stayed with BAR/Honda, delivering best possible performances, staying motivated, him and Button challenging back and forth between 2005-2008, the question of what would happen to Honda in 2009, being bought by Brawn, and both of them given a good car.

RB sat in a WDC car for plenty years, I think he is extremely lucky to be given the chance this year, but the justice of both Button and Villeneuve, both being good drivers, throwing away year after year in an underperforming Honda, would make a fantastic story. smoking.gif

Jenson absolutely murdered JV at BAR sadly
Jose Mourinho is Special
sorry but Villeneauve wouldn't stand a chance against Jenson

Firebone,
I guess you missed the part where Jenson blew the doors off JV. rolleyes.gif

I didn't miss it, but I think JV had lost his hunger/motivation by then.

Just thinking, 'what if'.

JV wasn't always shit/creepy/looks like a pedophile. He is a WDC.
Brawn BGP 001
*OP clearly missed the 2003 season*

You know ole Jacques got a bum wrap in 2003. If you take out all 2003 retirements you are left with this:

Jenson Button 10 4 8 8
Jacques Villeneuve 9 12* 10 9

*12? His steering wheel went dead on lap 1 and he didn't have antistall and caused a stall in the pits. He was on par with Jenson most of the time. I'd buy those doors used. They wouldn't be too badly damaged.

Jenson still beat him. It didn't help that JV was on heavier fuel loads, though, but still, Jenson simply outdrove him.

By one place in 2 of the three races where the crap car didn't fail.

Jacks' failure was going for heavy fuel since yes, he does seem to manage his fuel and tires better than most. In indycar it was magic, grooved tires and the tech of the day? Not so much as we can see.

In today's climate with refueling on the way out I'm not sure he'd suck or "do ok". Then I watch Rubens and then I think...
