Heh, every time I read this title while sdanning through RC I read it as, "Max reminds stewards he is intellectually challenged". This, of course, has an entirely different (though perhaps more appropriate) meaning. lol.gif

Umm. No.

It was provoked by the FIA President choosing to make totally unnecessary nasty, personal remarks about someone who merely disagrees with him, in an on-the-record interview printed in an important British newspaper.

The journalist did no more than accurately report sMax's remarks.
Its not a matter of poor journalism. (No requests for apologies, let alone legal threats from the litigious sMax.)
Its about inappropriate behaviour, bad taste and bad judgement from motorsport's dictator.

WTF criticise the journalist? (Other than for not administering a sound thrashing, there and then. But why should he give sMax fun without being paid to administer the spanking?)
Its the FIA President that has become "a figure of fun in the paddock" (and in the press box - remember his 'leaving present').

"WTF" - calm down.

I'd argue that it was poor journalism. Lots of potential in an interview with a sharp, divisive character like Max and we've ended up with a cosy sofa chat. It's not an exciting article is it now. Max is tough. Give him tough questions. Get some interesting answers. I have read a number of pieces by MB, seen his punditry on News24 and have formed an opinion that he's rubbish.

My over-arching point is that you're all barking mad and I just wondered who you're going to hate after Max is gone. I'm starting to see that after Max is gone, you're going to hate Max by proxy. Starting with his appointees and colleagues and when you're through with them move on to their family pets, his postman... people who wear a suit.... Where will it end?

It is a tedious thread and I appreciate the irony (futility?) of me repeatedly opening and adding to it. It's tedious because of the extreme lengths you bunch of barm cakes go to to get yourselves upset about Him.

I surrender.

You seem to assume that people despise Max because he's a panto villain and everyone needs someone to hate. That's not the case. People despise Max because he is a vile and corrupt human being.

And he is a cancer to our beloved sport.
