If anyone cares, Brawn just sealed off their WCC with a dominant 7-8. Just saying.

dominant 7-8 biggrin.gif
Eli
No, they did not.
Mark A
Brawn are still 0.5 points short of the championship.
Nonesuch
They needed 36 points, but have "only" 35.5. tongue.gif
Jeag
No they haven't, and even if they did why make a thread like this trying to degrade their achievement?
DFV
But Brawn hasn't taken the constructors championship have they?

They are 35,5 points ahead of RBR. There are 36 points available for RBR over the next two races so in theory... But in reality you are absolutely correct.

Maths not your strong point?
ensign14
They might protest Rosberg for gaining too much time on the safety car. That would get them over the line.
noikeee
Uh?

I was looking at this site -> http://www.f1-facts.com/ for my maths and they have Brawn on 153 points, Red Bull on 110,5. That's a 42,5 difference. The commentator on my TV has also just said Brawn are champions.

edit: they have updated the standings in here -> http://www.f1-facts.com/results/season/2009 but not in the main page so that's how I got confused. Sorry.
SPBHM
that was a boring race...
obviously they will be champions in the next race, but barricello's pace was rubbish..
I think this wdc will end with vettel quite close to button, and barrichello in 3rd...
postajegenye
So have they won it or not? biggrin.gif

Mathematically, not.

If RedBull scores 1-2's at the last two GP's and Brawn score less than 1 point, RBR are WCC.
Highly unlikely scenario, so the WCC is pretty much in the bag for Brawn.
Timstr11
Rosberg might get a penalty, so that will change things if it happens... tongue.gif
K-One
Brawns will complain about Rosberg, so they might be WCC today
Slick
Brawn could yet be champions at this race, Rosberg could be getting a penalty for going too fast behind the safety car.

I'm not sure. If you mean that he set a PB lap when the yellows came out, you have to consider that he was going into the Casio Triangle when ALG crashed, so he never went through the yellow flag zone before the SC went out.
primer
How do you drive 'too fast' behind a safety car?
ryan86
On my recording, the SC is called when Rosberg is 65 seconds into his lap, I believe that he should be at Spoon Curve.

There was quite a long time between the yellow being thrown out and the SC getting called out. There was definitely a Williams ahead of ALG... Okay, maybe it was Naka.
WebBerK
It was on purpose.
Brawn could have won the WCC in Japan, but they prefer to postphone it to celebrate in Brazil... bastards sad.gif tongue.gif

I just hope Vettel can pull a miracle comeback and win the WDC... that'll teach those half-ass drivers at BrawnGP

Come on Vettel, 2 more wins!! JB and RB lack the cojones to fight it.
