The Portero de la Funes circuit in San Luis looked a fantastic circuit when the FIA GT Championship went there last year. They plan to return their next year with the World GT1 Championship. Currently it has an FIA Grade 2 so it cannot host a Formula One race, but I don't understand why it doesn't have an FIA Grade 1 so the Formula One circus can go. I just wondered what anyone thought of the circuit and maybe F1 going their?

looks amazing, and looks like a proper natural circuit with undulations (shock!)
more chance of portimao being added though surely, that one looks great too

This has been asked many times before. And it's very unlikely. If we get an Argentine Grand Prix, it will probably come with the backing of the incumbent Argentine government. However, the circuit in San Luis is in a seat held by the national opposition, so the governmen would be loathe to support a race there.
