1 Raikkonen
2 Hamilton
3 Vettel
4 Alonso
5 Kubica
6 Rosberg
7 Webber
8 Massa
9 Heidfeld
10 Barrichello

Reasons...kimi on top because i think itd be stupid to judge his recent performances without taking the nogrip-us ferraris into equation
vettel, lewis above alonso because im a fan of raw pace and i believe they will further iprove in coming years.
id rate massa lower because i believe he maximized that car with his us style..i cant think of one team other than ferrari where he'd achieve that.similarly i cant think of one top team thatd jump forth and sign him if ferrari made him available right now(even if that accident hadnt happened)
out of the newcomers,id rate grosjean highly because he was pretty much there on pace with alonso during the first few weekends.

10 Heidfeld
9 Button

=2 Vettel

1. Hamilton

Hamilton was impressive in his debut year and I think he is even better now. But t here is so little between them that if Hamilton (1) and Button (10) would go head to head 10 races in equal cars, the result would be maybe 7-3 in Hamiltons favor.

Level 1.

Massa, Raikkonen, Alonso, Vettel, Kubica, Rosberg (These are the ultimate drivers in F1, proffesional, quick, few mistakes)

Level 2.

Webber, Heidfeld, Hamilton, Button, Barrichello, (These are the guys who on their day can match the top guys but make too many mistakes)

Level 3.

Trulli, Fisichella, Liuzzi, Sutil, Glock (The average guys, who sometimes make the jump to level 2 but not often enough)

Level 4.

Buemi, Kovalainen, Grosjean (Need to improve) (a lot)

Level 5.

Alguesuari, Nakajima (No hopers)

Level Badoer.

Badoer (Badoers)
fed up
Averaging out the votes Hamilton seems to get the most votes. Button clearly isn't rated amongst the best

I dont believe in these conventional rankings as there is no discernible difference between most of the drivers on the grid. On different days and tracks they all beat each other regularily and are evenly matched in speed and on average no better than each other. Rankings are just to create some talking points and sell magazines.

I believe in levels or tiers though and I think they are much more accurate ranking system.

Tier 1 - Alonso, Hamilton.

Tier 2 - The rest.

Tier 3- Nakajima

I'd say that RB does make way too many mistakes. Especially at the beginning of the seasons.
At the rate the things are progressing. Button makes the biggest mistake by thinking that a series of 8s will win him the championship.

22. Nelson Piquet Jr (More crashes than "crash verstapen" - crashgate or not, the worst F1 driver I have seen in ages!)

Tier 4.
20. Algesuari (Time to improve - but can only judge on current performance)
19. Grosjean (Time to improve - but can only judge on current performance)
18. Buemi

These guys have something special
Alonso, Hamilton

Show signs of being in tier 1 but aren't quite
Vettel, Raikkonen, Massa

Solid, Fast and Dependable
Webber, Heidfeld, Rosberg, Kubica, Sutil, Fisichella, Button, Barrichelo

Good but missing something
Buemi, Liuzzi, Trulli, Alguersauri, Glock, Kovalainen, Grosjean, Piquet, Bourdais

Shouldn't be in F1
Nakajima, Badoer

New guys are given a free ride into tier 4 even if they have performed badly, Trulli just misses out on the tier above due to his inconsistency during races. As much as I like many of the drivers in tier 3 they just haven't shown the flashes of brilliance that the guys above them have. Button and Barrichelo are un-splittable because Ross Brawn says so and my confidence in him as a team boss is way greater then any of the positions in this list!

This years World Champion does not get ranked very high on this BB. Wonder if he will recover next year? Funny in a way, I think that people ranked him higher last year, in general, then they do now.

Last year people were defending Button because people were putting him down at the bottom of their lists. He's a very good driver but so are more then half the grid. I wouldn't say he has ever shown signs of brilliance but he's the match of drivers like Webber and Kubica who would both be worthy champions.
