I am listening to a NASCAR driver radio for the first time and the spotter keeps telling JPM something like "50-60 in front, 70 out back". Now, those are not car numbers, do they refer to the time JPM is behind/front of other drivers (where 70 = 0.7 seconds)?

so he's catching the guy ahead by a tenth and no pressure from behind is the overall meaning
