Oh c'mon, it's not dreadful. Not as good as last year but not dreadful. Besides, this might not be the final livery, they might tweek it for the presentation and actual model.
Offcourse I appreciate that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But in my opinion calling it "not dreadfull" is olympic grade flattery. It looks lego-ish.
QUOTE (FSA @ Jan 21 2010, 14:49)

I hope you're right. LDM has said in the past that sponsors don't control how the Ferrari livery looks in terms of logos etc, and I hope he meant that. Red and black livery I could live with, but red and white is just not a visually pleasing combination. Hopefully it will look different/better when they pull the covers off the car next week.
they are pretty much returning to the livery they ran from 2000-2006 so its not that radical

they used it in 07 & 08 I believe but dropped it in 09. The f2007 did look beautiful in that red though, especially with marlboro branding

Contrary to what some suggest, Ferrari will certainly not go about doing an interim design to be used just for an ad.
Here is a comparaison between the new livery (up) and the 2009 livery (bottom).

Have to say I loved the 2007 evolution F1 cars. Both the Ferrari and the McLaren were things of beauty. They looked like futuristic racecars, the way F1 always should look. It's such a shame that the design restrictions were brought in. The current iteration of F1 cars are so ugly. And that's why the livery is so much more important now.

Strange, there is space enough for a Santander logo on the sidepod along with Shell, but they put it above the barge bord where it didn't look so well..

I give the livery a solid B. If they want an A, there's a few things they could do:
1) Make the entire front wing white, not just the inside bits.
2) Drop Malboro and the barcode design. As Martin Brundle once pointed out, it makes them look like a GP2 team. Replace it with Santander, even if they are becoming the resident Omni Consumer Products of Formula 1.
3) Put some numbers on the car! I hate having to try and identify which car is which based on the camera mounting and the driver's helmet.
4) A nice white band around the engine cowling and cockpit like the 1993 car wouldn't go amiss.

That is one ugly car, livery and all.
I preferred the black wings on the car in the 80's and early 90's, that was very nice. Or the silver wings in the 70's and early 80's. But this white stuff is awful.
The Ferrari's looked better even a couple years ago, can't they figure out something more interesting?
