I came across someone looking for information and items from Stanley Scofield Productions Productions Ltd. and thought i would post this in case anyone was interested.
My father designed all the Schofield materials during the 50’s and 60’s and at one time i was in posession of all of the records.
Unfortunately i only have three left now.
1960 Isle of Man TT, double album with insert
1964 Isle of Man TT, single album
Stars of Speed Bob McIntyre.
If anyone is interested, make me an offer.
thanks

"Sound Stories"... I played one of the records to my wife 33 years ago and while she thought of me as a certified nutcase, she still married me and has not left yet... lol.gif

The sound of that 8-speed, 5-cylinder 125cc Honda shifting up and down at over 20000 RPM is engraved forever in my memory bank, what's left of it. love.gif

I did not play any records , thats were I failed............we split !

But I would say the Honda 6 was a tick wilder to listen too........but both faboulos.

I never liked the looks of the 6, always loved the looks of the 5, so much more "high tech"... cat.gif
I want one. In my living room, on front of the fireplace.

Two winners with my open-mouthed school chums were the 1964 125 Honda 4 going down the gears from 8th to 2nd for Signpost Corner, and Camathias the same year on the Gilera sidecar at Governors' Bridge. Game over... eek.gif

Can't have been too offensive, though, we're all still friends, 45 years later... cool.gif

Strange..i haven`t heard of them for years! I started work there many years ago, and was a camera assistant on a lot oh their motor sport films, mainly for Rootes Competion Dept..that is where my interest in motorsport began! I wished i had kept a copy of all their films and records!!

I'm a lucky sod, because when Giacomo Agostini brought a fleet of Ubaldo Elli-owned MVs to New Zealand in 1999 for the Pukekohe historic festival, as part of my subsequent research I got hold of the original TT Sound Stories recordist, Gordon Pitt. He was ticking on a bit by then, but when I got in touch with him, and offered him the chance of gettting hold of a bit of MV sound from the video we were making, he sprung into action, went up into the attic and transcribed for me some fabulous sounds from the era of Hocking, Ubbiali and Hailwood on the MVs.
Naturally I was only too happy to send him back tape of the Elli collection banging round Pukekohe, including the wall of sound resulting from a 500 triple, a 350 six, a 500 four and a 350 four sweeping past in what we descibed as a "17-cylinder Gallarate chorus".
Let's face it, if it brought him a smile, the job's done, as we are all in his debt for the huge number of fabulous sounds he's captured for us from the TT over the years ! clap.gif
