Trulli is on the outside. You are on the outside, you don't exist.

The outside isn't part of the racing track? You have to be awfully sure you're not wheel to wheel. Luckily no one was hurt. As I said Sutil had the racing line.

Q. You were in the FIA press conference when Jarno Trulli and Adrian Sutil had a bit of a row behind you – and Nico Rosberg has expressed concern about drivers moving over on rivals, like Kobayashi on Nakajima in Brazil. Is driving standards an issue that needs addressing?

FA: Yes. For sure, we need to review what happened in Brazil. There were two or three moments of the race that we will discuss in the drivers' briefing, because for sure all of us have different opinions. But especially the Kobayashi/Nakajima movement, while you are on braking for sure it was not what you are supposed to do. There is not a clear rule written that we can go for it, but between the drivers we know what we can do and what we cannot do. And on braking, any movement is not allowed. Maybe because Kobayashi was new, maybe we need to speak to him.

How does Alonso stand in the "For sure" championship? smile.gif

All the while, Raikkonen was just completely expressionless!

Obviously he was really bored by all this. What he was doing with his hand under the table at the end of the clip?

Well it appears Sutil had the racing line, but he should also have known Trulli was there.

The only reason Trulli is there is because Sutil had to brake massively in order not to hit Raikkonen - Trulli drove into a gap which was always going to disappear. Trulli was clearly in the wrong, however it's nice to see the drivers showing a bit of passion rather than acting like corporate drones, and I'm sure Jarno will be in F1 next season.

This picture really sums up the whole thing.

I love how laid back Kimi and Alonso are and do what Trulli deserves and thats laughter. biggrin.gif

So was he giving room or was he just doing his thing? You guys need to make your mind up.. drunk.gif

and that's not enough room in my book:

also, consider that the drivers arent using these specific kerbs all the way through normally, it's pointless and they are too harsh.
Notice where Sutil is steering towards? Where are the cars in front of them heading towards? That pic was the moment where Sutil was closest to the kerb. After that he pulled towards left. Trulli could have done the same, or getting of the throttle.

I keep my opinion. Poor racecraft from both. Sutil should have had a go at Kimi, instead of flat spotting his tire moments ahead of this pic. And with Sutil being slow, where would have been the better side for Trulli to overtake Sutil. Inside. Anybody trying it on the outside, when he really didn't have too is putting himself at the mercy of another driver. But when he doesn't have to this is not showing great racecraft.

If Trulli goes inside, Sutil will see him, and it would have forced Sutil to back off just a little as well.

It's not possible to turn your head in a modern cockpit far enough to look over your shoulder. He wont have been able to see the low front end of the Toyota until it was pretty much level with him. The onboard camera distorts this perspective as it is mounted higher up and further back than the drivers head and is also a wide angle lens.

I believe Adrian when he says he had no chance of seeing Jarno, more to the point, Jarno should have known that Adrian would not have been able to see him.

Crofty just mentioned on the BBC that Charlie Whiting reminded Jarno of something he mentioned to him a few years ago "When you are on the outside you have to look after yourself" (not exact transcript as I've just head it on the telly!)

Trulli was laughing too, the only one not laughing was Sutil.

On the first pic already you see Trulli beeing significantly next to Sutil, with his nose at the height of Sutils cockpit and gaining on him very fast, the car on the inside must give the car on the outside room in such a situation. If you want to insist the car on the racing line is allowed to force the other car off if its ahead, then thats not racing, thats destruction derby and not a single overtaking maneuvre would be possible if the car that is slightly ahead can force the opponent of the track.

Trulli's problem with Sutil is he doesn't believe he couldn't see him.

Rubbish. When the crash happened, Trulli immediately jumped out of his car and ran 400 meters to have a row with Sutil. Sutil obviously hadn't spoken to him at that point.

Sutil has ended this with his 'Donald Duck' comment. Quality.

Yesterday it was shown how you race people, it was not the Sutil way from Brazil.

Yep, yesterday the racing was fine! Everybody left enough room to the car next to him. Even Adrian Sutil didnt cause any accidents this time. After crashing Kovalainen, Heidfeld, Trulli, maybe he has learned something

There's pretty good evidence that Truilli was at fault IMHO:

1) All but about 4 people that have contributed to this thread think that Jarno was more to blame.
2) The FIA Stewards saw no reason to punish Sutil
3) The photographic evidence supports that Jarno was not alongside until he was on the outside curb
4) The drivers ignored Jarno's request to rehash the incident in the drivers breifing
5) All 5 BBC commentators placed the blame on Jarno (and coultard... making 2 ex F1 drivers)
6) Charlie whiting reminded Jarno that he had said "the person on the outside mus look after himself" in a previous stewards investigation (the may not be the exact quote, but I'm not twisting the meaning).
7) Sutil has a history of daft accidents, the FIA would love to punish him if he was at fault.

That's all I can be bothered to think of right now. Can we give this a rest. No-one is interested in hearing Jarno's bitching in the paddock, he's made a fool of himself. I hope he gets a drive next year so this is not the way he will be remembered.
