Dear Mr Bloggs
Thank you for your e-mail BBc One coverage of the 'Formula One' broadcast on 19 April 2009.
I'm happy to read that your enjoying our coverage but I understand you're concerned because you feel Jonathan Legard's commentary is very poor quality.
I do apologise if you're unhappy with Jonathan Legard's commentary although he's an experienced F1 commentator who has covered the sport on BBC Radio 5 Live for approximately eight years with a long-standing knowledge of the sport.
We believe Jonathan has strong editorial integrity, but do we bear in mind that our F1 coverage has only recently started and so far we're very happy with how it went however I appreciate the time you've taken to raise your concerns and your feedback is most valued by the team in BBC Sport and we're confident that we can keep improving the coverage as the season goes on.
It's true that the range of tastes and opinions held by our audience is so diverse and subjective that it's inevitable some viewers will dislike or disapprove of certain presenters such as Eddie Jordan and even Jonathan Legard. It's a very rare TV personality who meets with everyone's approval, and it's clear that opinions on individual presenters can vary considerably.
With your concerns in mind as you'd much prefer to have someone else such as James Allen to contribute and that you also feel there the insight isn't balanced so I'd like to assure you that I've registered all of your comments on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.
The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content and all feedback we receive, whether positive or negative, is always appreciated.
Thank you again for contacting us.
Regards
Peter Peter.

-----------Original message---------
I just wanted firstly to congratulate you on the effort you are putting into providing us with a broad and comprehensive coverage of the 2009 Formula 1 world championship. The level of commitment and content is a vast improvement to what we had on ITV in past years.
I have two principal complaints specifically regarding cast choices.
1. Eddie Jordan - I feel he provides very little value or insight into proceedings. I feel he tries too hard to overtly dominate the chatter between the three pundits and it comes at the expense of the very detailed insight of Coulthard and the more general view of Humphrey. Both of whom have an easy going way about them that is jarringly ruined by Jordan apparent narcissism.
Mike Gascoyne in contrast was a revelation, authoritative, clear, concise and interjected only when called upon. He did not try to dominate the discussion as Jordan does. I would rather just two pundits if someone of Gascoyne's calibre is unavailable as Jordan, rather than adding to the mix, takes much away from it.
2. Jonathon Legard's commentary. I know any commentator will be divisive, and it takes time to become accustomed to any commentator. But I just feel Legard comes across very staid and boring and betrays no true hint of passion for the sport or its proceedings. It comes across very forced, very bland and he has little report with Martin Brundle.
I would much prefer James Allen's return, personally. While also divisive, I find his passion for the sport very clear and he understands the sport on a far deeper level than Legard could ever hope to.
I realise much of my commentary here is subjective and no doubt for everyone like me that has issues with these cast members there are others who like them. I just wanted to register my unhappiness and remark on two points that could be improved on what is otherwise a fantastic coverage service.
Thank you very much for your time.
Kind regards,
Joe Bloggs
