Can I say kudos to BBC for sticking with it 'all the way' (OK its not all the way, I guess) as it were?

ITV wouldn't have, as proved with Japan 2002 when they ran off because of McNish's crash.

BBC are funded by us, the licence payers.

So they aren't bound by delivering certain commercials to certain audiences at certain times.

ITV ain't publically funded, nor does it have two terrestrial channels.

No it has 4 free to air channels.

They shoved Qualy onto ITV4 numerous times without even trying it on ITV1

ITV have to pay the bills, unfortunately that's how it is in the real world.

I read what you wrote FFS. They moved F1 without any need to before was my point.

Frustrating hearing Legard talking about Button possibly finishing qual in 15th and being in the grips of Vettel.. not that it matters if Vettel passes Button, Vettel still needs to win the thing.

Technically no. He could finish 2nd and still be in the title race, but JB will need to finish outside the points for that to happen. If we have mixed weather tomorrow, anything can happen.

Legard was pretty dire in that last 5mins of qualifying, he sounded like he was falling asleep and jerked awake everytime a car crossed the line.
Henrytheeigth
Thankyou bbc for a wonderful and complete coverage of the event. smile.gif

Props for filling the second hour with all those interviews.

I think the Beeb did a great job today. Admittedly i popped out for half an hour but i was surprised they kept broadcasting.
I guess im just used to ITV calling it quits after 10 mins (although they are totally different companies so its a bit harsh judging them against the bbc)

It's bad enough cancelling both Merlin, and Hole In The Wall, but to twist the knife in and postpone Strictly is just disgusting in my book!

Missed out on his highbrow entertainment there then.

I despair that my license fee is blown on sh*te like that.

I loved this one:

I am absolutely livid that Strictly has been delayed by at least 15 minutues so that we can instead watch a bunch of blokes standing in the rain and talking about the rain. Does this really have to be on at prime time on a Saturday evening??!!

Does strictly have to be on prime time on a Sat evening? Does your life depend on it? Is your life so organised you cant afford a 15 minute window either side of Strictly?

Comedy gold thanks D.M.N.!!! up.gif

its live i think and does have massive ratings

80% chance of rain tomorrow, and almost certainly a safty start as 90% chance between 1-2 local time so race looks interesting.
Nothing is over yet for any of the 3

It's something that can be delayed and shown live 15 minutes later. F1 can't just decide that it's going to start by a certain time after a red flag just to make some people happy so they can watch some z listers (and that's being generous) prancing around in silly little costumes. Anyone would think a 15 minute delay for SCD is the end of the world, same goes for x-factor and other such garbage. People who whinge about a 15 minute delay need their head looking at, and probably need a brain replacement, especially when SCD has overrun previously anyway, which makes those whingers look like hypocrites

Took the words right outta my keyboard smile.gif

Yeah they'll go mad now cos it was delayed which just annoys me no end. It aint the end of the world. Do they think us F1 fans wanted to wait around 3 hours for qualy? No! But cos we love it we're willing to put up with all sorts of nonsense. If we had our way it wouldnt have been delayed at all.

I listened to the usual dynamic duo on the red button. They make it so damn entertaining, which is how it should be. As soon as they finished I got Legard and he made Barrichello's pole sound like a bloody wake.
