Clatter
Well here we are for the last race of the season. Can't believe how quickly this year seems to have gone.
potmotr
I know what you mean Clatter.

But bring on the race!

Strange, I wasn't thinking Abu Dhabi would be that great but I'm actually quite excited.

krapmeister
So, Lewis' race to lose - who's gonna get the other spots? RBR or Brawn?
jcbc3
Whoa - COOL plane.

just had a low fly over:

Quick Nick for a podium.

I've got a weird feeling that Vettel and Webber are going to collide.
HMV
It will still probably be lame and boring compared to Interlagos. Whoever though it would be a good thing to move Brasil form the last spot should be drowned in warm vodka.

Well if that does happen then the Webber-Vettel scoreboard thread should be fun... lol.gif

I've been thinking the same thing, but MW more or less said he is the support driver for Vettel today.
Tifoso05
Do u have the expected stops?
f1rules
yes hamis to loose, it would have been much more fun to see hami start from the back, he is totally dominant
krapmeister
Almost potmotr!
ItisI
Jezus, Ferrari in 5 laps already on 20 secs or more ...
OnyxF1
Looks like another parade. What a disappointment after Interlagos (which wasn't a bad race).
Simon Says
Seems Lewis just did a monster of a qualifing lap. Webber and Vettel are just as quick as Lewis.

Not that the Mclaren is 0.7 seconds quicker then the Red Bull.
EthanM
I think it may turn into a race later, Redbull works well when temps go down and Ham isn't exactly blitzing it right now
Massa_f1
If it wasent for Kers Lewis would not be fast at all. So glad Kers is going next year its unfair.

Red Bull has KERS also for this race?
Alfisti
Man if webber could have nabbed Vettel, he's got some pace
P123
Red Bull looking good for a 1-2 finish at the moment.

Same reason why everyone praises Singapore: it looks good on TV. Who cares about the racing amirite?

Yes they have

Sebastian Vettel - 2nd: "I think both Mark and were surprised by the gap to Lewis. He's been quick all weekend and the McLaren seems to be generally very strong here. We could see in Q1 and Q2 that it would be difficult to match their pace, so think this was the maximum we could do today. I'm very pleased so far, it should be a good race. The car is working well here; it just seems that our KERS button, which we have on the steering wheel, isn't working! But, let's see. think we have a good race pace and the car is getting better and better. I'm looking forward to tomorrow."

Ouch! That mistake will cost Hamilton lead after 1st round of pit-stops.
lokiman
Vettel's car seems to be perfectly set-up. It looks like it's on rails.
potmotr
Interesting race so far!

I reckon Lewis's problems are down to his current set of tyres.

So he'll be behind the Red Bull's after the stops, but could well be faster!

Game on!

You need to buy yourself a sarcasm detector ... He's just saying they have kers button on the steering wheel but no KERS system smile.gif
Tenmantaylor
Harder tyres not working for Lewis, Vettel keeping in touch and looking good to jump in the pits. Lewis on softs behind Vettel with KERS deployed should be a great battle. Gonna be settled on in and out laps this one.

Me neither. I was happy to reserve judgement until the race, but this is just confirming my thoughts. All the fuss about the scenery is just to distract away from the lack of on track interest.

Don't you realise that is a joke? roflmao.gif

Given that the KERS gives LH almost 4 tenths per lap it can be said that both RBR drivers are doing a gret race so far.

Seb Vettel was joking.

I'm Sherlock, and here's the truth: that's a Germanic way of saying he has no KERS.

Bloody curse, anyway: if it wasn't for that Vettel would've been right on Hamilton's tail on the first lap.

All the same....I think I saw some movement-the race is alive!
ItisI
only way to get Lewis after the stops before Vettel is a short second stint and finish the race with a long stint ...

Without kers he would be even faster. It's just dead weight, waste of space and limits the ways (aerodymamics, weight distribution) you can design your car.

Let's not go on and on with this: yes KERS is a lot of weight to haul around, but take a look at the first lap of the race. The advantage on the ultra-long straight was massive!

The McL drivers have had a long time to get accustomed to carrying that extra load around,I'm sure they're comfortable with it by now.

KOBAYASHI IS MENTAL! WOOT!
