In the current financial climate etc etc and the addition of teams for next year, could someone please tell me if there is a law that you have to submit 2 cars when entering a new season or when a new team enters the championship

and if there is do we think it should be removed to allow new teams to join the grid. I am just thinking that with new teams trying to make it to the grid, would they be better channelling all their development time on 1 competitive car instead of over stretching their budget and work load on completing 2 non competitive cars.

It was just a thought........

Yes, two cars only, no more no less.

No it should not be removed, as a team with heavy sponsorship driven reasons for being in the sport (like RB for example) could save a fortune and only run one car with a star driver... win all of the races due to their reduced costs (therefor spend more on car development) and generally ruin the sport.

I was thinking more of the new teams (with the 30mill budget) than the mainstream existing teams

as an encouragement to get them on the grid, possibly with an incentive to get 2 cars on the grid by a set time.

save a fortune by running only one car? how much do you think they will save?
