Full Version: Viewing website using Opera Mini
The AUTOSPORT Bulletin Board > Forums > Website Feedback

Hi,

I'm having trouble viewing the website using Opera Mini on my mobile. Opera Mini is the most popular mobile web browser, so I thought it would be fine.

If I access the F1 news (autosport.com/f1), clicking on any news story just brings up the same page again.

Trying to visit wap.autosport.com (I am a subscriber so should be able to), it says "Your device does not seem to be a mobile or does not have a proper WAP profile header".

I'm using a Sony Ericsson W595 on O2 using Opera Mini 5.

Thanks smile.gif

Have you tried going to palm.autosport.com instead?

I didn't know that existed, it works a treat, thanks! clap.gif

I have been using Opera Mini (4.2) with a Sony Ericsson K530i to access Autosport for years now, and I have not encountered the problem you are describing.

The only glitch I have seen appears sometimes in the Forums; when I click on the 'next page' of a thread, it just reloads the same page (but it doesn't happen consistently).

PS Opera Mini 5 is still in Beta, perhaps the problem is due to this?

It could well be that. I was using 4.2 before and (I think) I had used the wap page using that before, although some news stories would reload the new page and would sometimes load the wrong news story.

But certainly any problems have been amplified with version 5. But as I said, the palm version works fine so I'm happy with that smile.gif

I think this is an Opera issue, not related to one mobile, because I have had the same thing happen on my Samsung Tocco Ultra a load of times over say the last two months, even though it had never happened before.
