I don't think they need to. I remember they were using it up to late last year which I suspect was with this years car in mind.
They should stick an 2008 wing on just for a laugh, just to see this place light-up and people throw themselves out of windows.

Looks like the guy that does the diffuser flaps is in a contest with the guy that does the aerofoils on the front wing ... the guy that adds extra blades to razors looks on jealously.

Could someone who knows about these things kindly draw some lines so we can see what is diffuser and what isn't?

this isnt the DDD channel, the channel you see in the above top down zoom shot aswell is infact from the Sharkfin, it runs through the engine cover and out the back. its cooling solution they wenty with which makes the MP4-25 Shark Fin far more impressive than the clip on ones from previous years. This shark fin is fully integrated into the design with parts being housed in the sharkfin area and hence the need for the duct at the other end so that these parts can be cooled sufficiently.

Seriously there are visible tyre degradations on the car. I don't know if they had been using the same tyre all they and up till now, the car had only done about 60 laps do you guys think this is significant?
60 laps on one tyre set? My uneducated guess, no. That would be foolish and dangerous.

Why? Montoya/Williams did it and won races by not changing tyres?
Although, this years tyres should be harder compound. But, with only one car at disposal right now, my guess is that the team is doing all sorts of evaluations considering both compounds and different fuel weights, relating to tyre degradation.

To Simon Says. True, but that was in race trim, with whole bunch of testing beforehand, not with a brand new ship, which is currently the only one they posess :-)

I have to admit I am starting to be a bit concerned. It is early on, sure, but I don't see anyprogress in Paffett's laptimes. And he already did 60 laps.
