And it took us 11586 posts before Hunnylander baptized the 24 the Silver Donkey. (Sep. 28).
I wonder how long it will take this year to find a matching name.

I think Lewis is a piece very important in develop our car. Last year we start over 2.5 sec gap over Brawn and finally win two races.
Lewis knows this car is good, he is a WDC and driver first level, loves Mclaren is his home. I´m convinced he will give 200 % of himself this season.
Regards
However much I love Hamilton I don't think he had much impact on the car, no doubt he got the most out of it though.

I do quite like the silver limo or silver barge. But I haven't seen anything that I'm really sold on just yet. I feel it has to be about the length. Like so many things in life.

Yeh, way to bring us back down to earth!
Incidently for those worriers out there, here's what James 'Ferrari fan' Allen had to say about our progress to date:
QUOTE
McLaren have been on a different programme from Ferrari and Sauber. McLaren have been doing runs of 20-25 laps at a time, which means that they have had at least 60-80 kilos on board. There has been no sign of a push to find the pace of the car.

In homage to the 1920's tear drop shape that also graced Rolls Royces of the time, I suggest the "Silver Phantom"

Very selective quoting of the article.
I asked him and he said nobody was doing low fuel runs.

Perhaps you should read the JB interview on autosport.com/f1/ He's clearly stated that the times were not important today, it was all about getting used to the new team. It's far too early to say if he's on Lewis's pace.
Relax, don't be so defensive, at least he is not as slow as Heiki. The fact that he is not as excited as Lewis means that he also knows that he needs to keep his pace up.

Seeing that the Benzes are already the "Silver" arrows, I think we may want to rethink the adjective describing the car!
Or we can just keep it at "Silver", for we are the true silver on the grid...

Yeh, the Mercs (aka Team Deutschland) really are tarmac grey aren't they? We get fog or Spa type rain and all you'll see is the brake discs.

Looking at the Merc colour scheme I'm struck how much it looks like model boats from my childhood, when a destroyer got sprayed battleship grey.

Interesting snippits loating around in the F10 thread, Alonso wasn't overly optimistic about his day, kept stressing that the times aren't anything to go by because of fuel weights which suggests to me he was light when he was setting his good times, come barcelona I do not beleive Ferrari will look so strong. Even the McLaren looked strong at Jerez last season before we went to melbourne, we were within a tenth of Vettel's time werent we? Or somewhere near the quickest in the winter.
Q. A lot of people believe Ferrari leaves this test as the team to beat. Would you agree with that?
FA: No, I don't think so. It's just the first day and as I said now at least for me the priority was getting completely comfortable. There are many things to discover for me, many things to learn.
I think maybe if we topped the times the three days it's related to fuel load or whatever, or maybe because it's true we are competitive. But before being competitive we need to make sure we do a lot of laps and that the car is strong and can finish all the grands prix. We are at that period of winter testing. We need to make the car very, very strong and until Barcelona or the last test at Jerez I think we will not look for the performance.
Oh and Scarbs confirmed on Twitter that the piece on top of the cockpit ahead of the drivers view IS a vent and not a sensor. Allegedly pushes air into the cockpit to cool the driver, probably for bahrain and other hot races.

As you say, with recent F1 cars varying in speed from track to track gauging the speed of cars based on this jumped up go-cart track would be very dangerous. Jerez will be better but flaws are always highlighted in Barca
