I know it's only a few preview shots but that looks like the sexiest car on the 2010 grid.

Heh,maybe it's the livery but it looks somewhat ordinary to me. Only first impressions, mind you-I'm sure it's a rocketship on track.

Now for the all-important shots of the diffuser once testing begins...
SPBHM
I'm not a big fan of this livery...
but the cars looks "fast" lol..

Wow pullrod still, and just as tightly packaged, where on earth do the diffuser pickups go?

scarily impressive considering said copied item was only unveiled a week ago, don't you think? wink.gif
Timstr11
It does look like a pullrod system still. Quite surprising.
For the rest it looks evolutionairy.

Red Bull had it last year...

Indeed, but when you're basing it on a quick car, I suppose that's understandable.

lol more like McLaren is a cheap copy of RB5
Seems people forget Newey was the first designer to introduce the extended engine cover concept during recent times.
Renault & Ferrari followed & now McLaren have but apparently they are the innovators. rolleyes.gif
Duck of Death
Honestly I can barely tell the difference from that and last years car!

Timstr11
In this picture, it actually looks like a pushrod.

Yes. roflmao.gif

A much better design with less money spent. Fantastic roflmao.gif

How anyone can call Red Bull copiers after some of the cars we have seen this season..... is ridiculous fanboyism

Pharazon
having trouble seeing much differemce betweem this and the rb5 tbh
depailler on tyrrell p34
the best livery in the circus!
ashnathan
The nose bulbs are much more defined in this years car, alot higher or maybe its just me. It should be rolling out into the pitlane right now shouldnt it? Is it 8.30 in jerez or still an hour to go?

That's not true. They are totally different because this year they are apparently copying McLaren. wink.gif
Slowinfastout
Dunno why they insist on writing the big Red Bull thing on the front wing underneath all that sh*t.. lol

They are Pullrods, you can see them going downwards.

Yeah. Believe so to.

ScarbsF1: RedBull: The "V"nose is higher and more dramatic, the Sidepods follow the RB5s lines and the rear suspension retains the pull rod set up
Melbourne Park
I recall that McLaren was the last of the F1 cars to incorporate covers onto its wheel/tyres. Perhaps and advantage for the ex-McLaren Newey supervised RBR6.

The front wing's apparent high development would be much involved around the narrower tyres and the lack of wheel covers too.

Of course appearances don't mean anything. We'll have to wait until not only the first qualifying, but until the first race itself to learn much about the car IMO.

yep like when was the last time his car won WCC? [...]

[Newey] is good but not a god...

My thoughts, too. Comparing Adrian Newey's designs to Rory Byrne's proves that they are very close matched in WDC and WCC, Grand Prix wins, points et cetera. I've got a list of all those stats for both Newey- and Byrne-designed F1 cars, from the early 80s to the mid 00s, but I haven't got it with me. If anyone's interested, I could look it up later.
raiseyourfistfor
what a surprise it looks almost the same as last years car
Disgrace
Looks like the Red Bull and Toro Rosso are going to look quite similar for years to come!
Music Man
Anyone care to give a brief explanation of pull / pushrods and why is it mentioned so often in Red Bull thread as I can't remember that being discussed when other teams launched their cars?

edit: Nevermind, already googled it
Slowinfastout
Well, this launch managed to be more virtual than the Virgin one, if we take things literally...

How about REAL pictures folks??

Seriously, what were you expecting? A mainsail just above the drivers' heads perhaps?!!

There will be additions and alterations made to it before Bahrain.

All that hype and the result is 'meh' drunk.gif

Tidy livery, however STILL not similar to other red bull liveries (Raikkonen, Ekstrom, Vickers) confused.gif

Now, provided they take Renault 1.5s faster than the R29 and raise them 2s faster than the RB5, then the Red Bull team should be victorious. After all this is what counts: that the car is more improved than any other team, with RBR starting from the previously class-leading RB5 and therefore primed to take crushing victories. up.gif smile.gif
onegearbroken
Those nose is soooo high, how's short Vettel gonna look outta the cockpit? It'll be hard thats for sure, but looks nice, the front wing is crazy...
Slowinfastout
@ Timstr11,

That was quick, thanks lol up.gif

The car looks very low overall.. sidepods and nose. etc..
V8 Fireworks
Points to note:

Semi-prominent Renault branding on the nose, engine cover and driver overalls up.gif You wouldn't get that with a Ferrari deal - Ferrari only interested in winning it for themselves rolleyes.gif . Well done to the French supplier clap.gif

Sidepods are quite compact and seem more undercut then before below the intake. Not significantly more aggressive than those on the lowly Virgin Racing car though.
Pharazon
did they have TOTAL on their car last year? or that a renault engine thing?
glorius&victorius
the front brake cooling intakes are interestingly shaped... like movable aerodynamic devices

are teams using the sharkfin partly to fortify to the rearwing?
DFV
Interesting sidepod design. Don't like the wheels though... Sauber's are much nicer looking wink.gif
f1rules
ok car, looks like last years

this car (like last year's) looks so racy!! I love the visible carbon fibre at the rearend of the sidepods.
shame the drivers are not world class.
lustigson
Is it me, or are the Renault and Total decals more prominent than last season?
Muzzinho

Yes Total and renault both much more prominent. V nose is a little different as is the Shark wing and rear wing curve at the back.

Exellent looking racecar, looks fast and beautiful.

Take note Mclaren, thats how you build a great looking car.

Are you suggesting that the fastest team at the end of last season throw their design away an come up with something completely new for absolutely no reason?

There's a good reason why everyone else is copying Red Bull and they've stayed "static".
