A larger field is always better for the fans and for the drivers (more places). And even if one or more of the new teams will be too slow; that doesn't mean that the drivers in that car can't show their qualities. Remember how Alex Caffi showed his skills in the Osella? Or how Gabruile Tarquini drove in to the points with the AGS? Or what Pierluigi Martini managed (even leading a race twice) with the Minardi? Or how Christian Danner put a RIAL in 4th place in Phoenix '89? Or how Eric Bernard performed on his debut wit Larrousse? Or some of miracles Nicola Larini performed in a Coloni? Remember Manfred Winkelhocks pace in the ATS? Or remember Marc Surer's fantastic races in the small Ensign in '81? I can go on like that. Without those small teams with slow cars (that especially goes for Osella) those drivers could possibly never have entered F1 or made an impact in the way they did.

There won't be any contras on the grid unless Bernie takes that offer for a Nicaraguan Grand Prix.

Bah-DOMP-Ching!

Anyone remember the old days when there was actually such a thing as a DNQ?

But we don't have more than 40 entries now do we. Only 26 teams so there will not be a thing such as DNQ, its a thing of the past tongue.gif

Pro's -

More crashes, love seeing crashes (as long as no one is hurt)
More overtakes

Con's -

Devalued F1 brand, the 4 new teams are going to finish a few laps down on Ferrari/McLaren

Don't be to sure about that with the current standardized F1 cars. We have seen what Force India was able to accomplish this year tongue.gif

I'm not expecting them to win races, but I suspect if 1 team gets it right, they might give one of the more established team a run for their money such as Torro Rosso.
