What would be interesting - to me anyway - is whether the comments had been reversed. I somehow doubt that it would have been made into as big a deal as it has on here if Lewis had said what Jenson is supposed to have said. If anything, people would have still got on Jenson's case for not wanting it enough.

It says to me that he wants to win the championship himself. It doesn't say he won't help the team if he is out of it. He could still help LH in that case, and still not care if he gets it or not.

Wow. I still think this is a nothing story. Sure, it's a quiet news week in F1 and some tabloids might try to make something of it, but there's just nothing here.

And I'm surprised how many F1 fans are clamoring for a public relations answer to every question. Isn't that part of what makes modern F1 sterile and boring? Button told the truth. He didn't say he didn't care about the team - in fact, I'm sure he realizes that a big reason he was brought to McLaren was to help them win that elusive WCC. That's what the team cares about, and I'm sure Button cares about it too (as does Hamilton).

The team will not be upset by this at all. They want their drivers to want to win, and they also know that if the math works out a certain way then one driver will help the other. With modern telemetry it's easy for them to tell exactly what a driver is doing. Button would help Hamilton and vice versa if that situation came up. They wouldn't necessarily like doing it, but they would anyway.

Massa actually have been kinda aggressive in the press since his accident, so that I don't follow completely.

Button usually does very well with press and pr, so this comment, if true, is really surprising. Perhaps he changed a little as well.

I find this hard to believe. Lewis trashed his tyres many times in his debut season. And Jenson has an obviously smooth style.

different cars in 2010, different tyres in 2010 and moreover i remember how Heikki used to say that he couldnot make his tyres last like Lewis did in 2008

Hungary 2009 Hamilton maintained his tyres very very well whereas as the Brawn's destroyed them. What we conclude is that driving style ISN'T as clear cut in regard to tyre wear and speed as most think

2010 will properly tell us how different (or similar) the two drivers are but I don't think you can conclude this from any period before where they were in different cars.

the problem that the brawn car had was that it coudnt heat its tyres
rember jenson going up and down on the track during a race trying to get some heat in the tyres
i remeber some race engineer told during the 24hr of zolder that a smoot driving style isnt always good
a race tyre will only work when its get on temperature maybe because of jensons smooth style he cant get the the tyres up to the perfect heat
as a race tyre whil grain if its not getting the perfect temperature
if its true that jenson is trashing its tyres i see him having a hard year against lewis

I think Button and Hamilton will be good teammates cuz they know they re working for the team. Button will be strong in race pace also he is good overtaker there will be some good battles!
