I think we completely ignore the fact that F1 is a team sport, LH with JB, we compete with teams and LH and JB should team up, and we should do the same, F1 isnt about teammates competing each other and if you think that you totaly dont get the idea behind F1.
We should unite as McLaren fans, stand on the same site instead of this LH vs JB. There are another 24 drivers out there we are going to battle.

I'm a McLaren fan since mid 90's thus support the drivers in it. Lewis has done a fantastic job for the team, and respect him for the things he has done so far. I hope LH and JB arent too focused battling each other that 'Two dogs strive for a bone, and the third runs away with it.' so of speak.
Because, LH with JB is a thriller and killer combination.

I don't know why but i feel like getting up and giving it the old fist pump after that
I've never really been a fan of a team, i'm a driver sort of fan
I was starting to have a soft spot for Brawn, then the way JB was seemingly treated, that quickly went
I hope i can start to feel some love for McLaren, i need to start laying some roots

Why do i have the feeling you are going to love McLaren as soon Button wins his 2nd WDC in that car

, or maybe as soon as McLaren gives JB and LH a car to win races with.

Maybe you don't get it.....driver's love outqualifying their teammate and outracing them because it makes them look like theyre doing the best job possible, i know f1 is a team sport but when you get down to the bottom of it, the drivers want to beat everybody and that includes their teammate.

Wasn't it Jensons main reason to go to McLaren,
to challenge and to beat Lewis in the same car?
He said it several times
I didn't hear him or read from him, he wants to beat Ferrari or the RedBulls
or he want's to be WDC with McLaren
His main reason to leave Brawn and to join McLaren was Lewis and the challenge to beat him.

Jenson and Lewis are ok drivers. I can see them steering Mclaren to a top 5 place in the WCC next year.
They havent got an out and out super driver like Alonso, Massa, or Vettel, but they may be ok. Take a few podiums.
Good luck to them. Hope you guys arent too hard on the boys.

That's laughable. And shows that you didn't watch, and didn't even read about, the '07-season. But let me tell you, that a rookie Hamilton matched his team-mate Alonso that year! Finished equal on points!
Massa a super driver? Hehe.

Let me express myself, F1 for
me is 'F1 is a team sport where you only reach your goals by working together.', If it is only up to what drivers do during the season and not the team, why is there a WCC after all? Maybe Bernie doesnt get it.

In a sound-proof, screened room at McLaren:
Whitmarsh: "OK, Jense, let's have it..."
Button: "Have what?"
Whitmarsh: "Brawn's secrets, how did they do it? What have they got that we haven't?"
Button: "Apart from the Constructors' Championship, you mean?"
Whitmarsh: "At Vodaphone McLaren Mercedes, the drivers do not make jokes."
Button: "We save that for the track?"
Whitmarsh: "Stick to the subject. Brawn's secrets. What do they put in their tyres?"
Button: "Air, just like you."
Whitmarsh: "What's their weight distribution?"
Button: "Same as yours, more or less."
Whitmarsh: "What clever innovations have they got in their suspension or brakes?"
Button: "None and none, they're just well refined."
Whitmarsh: "So what HAVE they got?"
Button: "Ross Brawn."

Isn't this where McLaren arrived at a couple of years ago with Fernando and Lewis. Then Lewis wanted to be first, then they tried to trick each other, then Ron said
"We were racing Alonso", then somehow Max got involved about some e-mails, then the whole season came to the last race and somehow neither driver won.
Maybe with a little more

between the two Brits, things might turn out OK!
Or maybe not!!
Dear, things are getting even worse for Lewis

he just broke up with longtime gf and pussycat doll Nicole. While Jenson is mixing it up with his illustrious geisha model on holiday

How will Hamilton find motivation now? Jense has got this duel covered 99%

I think no. Phil Prew will help both new race engineer, and Jakob isn't inexperienced. He was assistant race engineer to Lewis on the side of Phil. There was a video with those two (Phil Prew and Jakob Andreasen) explaining their jobs a bit.

I’m so sorry coz I’m sure this is not the appropriate thread for this but I just had to say this out. In this very competitive and aggressive world of F1, Heikki has just made my heart melt. Tiger? Half his problem there is that the women were not that hot. Same with Bill & Monica, it would have been a lot better if she'd been gorgeous and irresistible. Lewis will not be making that mistake, the competition with Jense will definitely include the loveliness of their girls.

Please keep the thread on topic - Jenson vs Lewis
On topic for a change. In todays "Motorsport aktuell" there's an article about LH/JB with some, ehm, interesting parts:
- allegedly Ross Brawn teached Jenson how important it is to gather your side of the pit around you as close as possible
- allegedly as a part of that process JB has made sure he vistited the factory specifically on those days LH was not there
- allegedly Buttons father is a likeable lad and provides a good mood inside his sons team
- allegedly Hamiltons dad is, wait for it.... "burned with ambition like a figureskating mom"

Always trying to influence things behind the scenes, very political and stopping at nothing to protect Lewis.
For what it's worth. The author is a certain Norbert Ockenga, in case someone feels like sending a Ninja squad...

All sounds perfectly plausible. If he wins over Whitmarsh's support and Ron keeps his hairy nose out, Jenson's got the battle fully won

As far as I'm concerened, Button just needs to beat those qualifying jitters he experienced in the second half of last season.
If he can do that, and stick with Hamilton in qualifying, his race pace will trouble Hamilton and I'm anticipating some mistakes. Button's style allows him to relentlessly lap the circuit with almost robot like precision and I will be fascinated to see how Hamilton deals with that.

For the nitpickers, the german text is "vom Ehrgeiz getrieben wie eine Eiskunstlauf-Mutter".
On second thought "
driven by ambition like a figureskating mom" would be more accurate.
