Just watched the clip of the presentation on the BBC.
Rosberg certainly didn't seem overjoyed.
He didn't even look at his team-mate in his efforts to avoid eye-contact.

Significant, I think, that MS was happily wearing his hat with number 3.
... And Rosberg wasn't wearing the hat with number 4.

No way is he a new Rubens.

Lots of potential fun this season. cool.gif

Regarding the livery: I like the silver, really do, but the "highlights" look like a 3 year old had too much time on sunday.
Last years paintjob was a masterpiece (clean&simple), this not so much.

Regarding Schu vs. the press: 3 years on the couch do not cause amnesia, people know all to well what went down in 15 years before, that doesn't go away easily. One step to far this season and you can expect a looot of questions like this.
BRK
From what I've been reading, both McLaren and Ferrari will have their early cars ready before Mercedes, while I have no clue how things are progressing on the RBR front. Better late and quick than too soon and slow, I'd say, but still hope there's no cause for concern.

Huh? All three are gonna test on Monday with their new cars.

There has, quite naturally, been a lot of interest in the return of the arrows. It will be interesting to see what the cars look like on TV in race conditions as some forms of silver livery have the tendency to look very grey and flat on-screen. It took McLaren several attempts to get it right. Anyway, welcome back Silver Arrows.

So the press should keep pressuring Alonso about Hungary 2007 or e-mail-gate? Should they keep pressuring Lewis about liegate? I'm all for discussing things but when the press can't let things go for years and decades that's not only BORING, but also smells rather personal antipathy by the journalist than anything else! So, no I don't want the press to bring up 15 year old matters in 2010 that have been discussed for a million times already. One of the reasons why I started rooting for MS was because I have always felt the media is rather unfair to him compared to other drivers. Whether it's because they don't like his face or style or because he is German. The press keeps confirming this feeling in me again and again and again.

All: the topic is "Mercedes GP - the 2010 Silver Arrows", please can we keep it that way rather than turning it into (yet another) Senna vs Schumacher thread? Thanks very much.

As I thought, the 'Journalist' responsible for those questions was Jonathon McEvoy from the Daily Mail.

No surprise there really.

Although I have to admit I think the livery looks amaterurish for F1 and like it came off some flashy f3000 car with its random sponsors names cluttered all over the chassis, one has to remember that what is important is that the car is quick out the box.

Also, the livery might, just might look good whilst the car is doing +100 mph.

I'd say we have to see it on track to make a real judgement.

Though I wouldn't mind if they spent the unspent resources on livery design towards gaining another few "points of downforce" roflmao.gif

Ok, lets go with MS being assigned the number 1 role. But what if, and there is a big if, Rosberg blows him out of the water during the first quarter of the season, is it then likely that MS would play second fiddle if told so by Brawn?

I know this might have been discussed in the Brawn to dewcide thread, but as iI have not read it yet I aloow myself to post this question here.

Yeah, I think it's simple and nice. And to be honest I'm glad I won't have to wear red at GPs any more. (Nothing against Ferrari, but I don't really like red.)

I would of thought so, yes...When Schumacher crashed and broke his leg and had no chance of the championship, he become Irvine's No.2 if I remember correctly.

Michael's the best number 2 as well as number 1. If Rosberg blows him out of the water (hahaha) then it would be insane for Ross to tilt things in Michael's favour.

What will be difficult to manage though, is if the two are level pegging. Again, that's doubtful imo though.

The black paint splashed on the nose and "flowing" backwards is a throwback to the 90s, there is no need for it IMO, as hardly there's need for any shades of grey applied to the silver. Simple bright silver would have been perfect - F1 Ferraris never had multiple shades of red: http://www.teamspeed.com/forums/pit-stop/3...ic-old-new.html .

You know, for me Rosberg is a big unknown. It har been hard to tell if he is really strong, strong or just average. If Mercedes (Brawn) produces a fast car this test will be highly fascinating. I'm seriously looking forward to this season.

And I am with you, hoping MS will show the rest of the field who is boss. There is a Norwegian saying: "Dont try to teach your father how to copulate". tongue.gif

I think the only significance is that Michael hasn't wasted any time in getting his personal sponsors into the photos. He's not wearing the cap to show the number 3 to the cameras.

Nico would destroy Schumi. The one thing working in Nicos favour is the no refueling. This would mean RB wont have the chance to hamper his 3rd round Quali by giving him a bigger fuel loads like he did to Rubens when it was against Button or Shcumi against all his team mates.

Everyone is too pre-occupied with the Massa/ Alonso and Button/Lewis battle. This is the one that would get the press and fans talking. Nico has the speed, fire and determination to destroy Schumi. This is his best dream come true for him. Beat Schumi which he would and join the elite.

I'm ready to take on all comers that Nico teaches Schumi a lesson. The mind games as already started and Schumi 1 Nico 0 but its only kick off time. Lets wait till the whistle blows for half time

Schumacher's a big boy, and he dealt with it well.

The Times ahve written a piece on the tetchy exchange.

That in my book is not dealing well with the question - it was a poor attempt at a smart dodge. He couldn't deny it, even his team mate present at that interview had accused him of it.
What I also find ridiculous are the attempts of some of his admirers to exonorate him and I do not necessarily mean you Potmotr.

'destroy' is pretty strong. Ever stop to think that Schumacher has been to numerous races in the last three years and has seen Nico firsthand? He doesn't feel threatened at all imo because that's the way Michael operates. He looked at people like Irvine and Rubens and Massa(in the beginning anyway) and knew he could beat them handily. I'm guessing history will repeat itself. Kimi was the first person, and this has been highly debated, that people have said Michael was 'afraid' of. Nico will have some moments to shine but beating Michael over a 19 race season? That's a tall order and mentally I just don't think he's strong enough.
