speaking about that Noblef1 Michael Schumacher just said he was most looking forward to the green light on Sunday. Think he needs to brush up on his #F1 rules...

From picture it is look like they all want to make free neck massage to Michael.

I don't think there will be any news from the PC. Nothing we didn't hear in last 1 month.
alanbaldwinf1 Schumacher was chewing gum throughout. Jenson and Lewis were joking around at the back like a pair of schoolboys.
alanbaldwinf1 Button in press conference, before tweaking Schumacher on shoulder: "It's good to see Michael back because it makes me feel young again"
legardj Button says season "should be electric. If not, we're doing something wrong". Important to start year strongly to be in title hunt
legardj Schumacher laughing and joking with Massa in front row of press conference. Chewing hard on gum

nothing significant, guess we have to wait 'till the 1'st FP
Just a few minor changes so far. Not sure if there will be anything that really stands out. I do expect some better lap times.
I do not know if the car used in testing had the vortex generator right before the side pods along the chassis. If it did not, I expect the front nose to be missing this, and thus more than likely a higher front nose.

I just checked launch pics, it wasn't on the launch car.

Interesting that he says they don't have a triple-diffuser and that there's nothing 'too contentious' about the new diffuser, but can't help contain a sly smile as he said it.
Anyhow-less than 24 hours until we find out. I don't care if it's not utterly radical or something so long as the car's quicker.
Yeah, I'm guessing he's smiling because of the speculation on the internet about some sort of 345345435 deck diffuser. I just think the car has refined upgrades all over. It won't look much different (if the nose isn't changed), but it will be slightly quicker and better balanced.

Ha,true, read all kinds of things myself. I thought it was actually a bit silly to suggest the only way these guys have of coming up with a better diffuser is to add more decks. That'd be pretty one-dimensional.

:
I'd like to see if they've tried a different approach with the design itself,though-something in an area not talked about a lot. Doesn't have to be overtly and visibly radical....don't know. We'll see-fingers crossed!

Although the final diffuser may be not triple version, it is still "completed new one". Something is not more complicated, the better.
Yeah, I can't wait until practice tomorrow. Hopefully we'll get some good pictures of what the upgrades look like!

I think Mercedes GP took two configurations to this test, the old one and the new one, to allow Schumacher to compare the two. I would expect they did the filming with the old spec and kept the new spec under wraps for a little while longer.

Vortex generators moved from the nose to just before the sidepods, different engine cover to tests (it's the one in the pic from bahrain) and it seems like a new-ish front wing, similar to the "new" one they tested.
It's what I can tell so far. Couldn't make out the new diffuser.

Seeing some of the amazing footage in video 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SBr2b1Z1mc) makes me wish the camera crews could be more 'artistic' with their camera placement during races. Some of these shots would be amazing seeing 20+ cars going past especially in opening laps and mid race battles.

Not really, already tested in Barcelona and it was said that a more efficient front wing will used for Bahrain.

My thoughts exactly. F1 wouldn't suffer from a more engaging photography. I even think the last time F1 was filmed in a more sophisticated fashion was for Grand Prix...

I hear from Brackley that a number of engineering staff have departed in the last week or so, including Gary Savage, a man who has been a major player in the team since Honda days. Savage has forgotten more about F1 engineering than many engineers will ever know and I expect him to be in demand. There are also rumours that there is a certain amount of friction inside Mercedes GP as the data of the two cars is not being shared as it is in other teams. I did not see Ross Brawn today so I have not had the chance to ask.

Anyway, Schumacher looked great; very fit and fresh. Look at his body language in my photo – it’s the classic legs wide, hands on hips stance of Henry VIII or George W Bush – the “I’m the boss here” message.
Alongside him Nico Rosberg looked well groomed and handsome, but you could sense his unease. He knew to expect the, “How can you beat this guy and what will it do to your career if you don’t?” questions, which duly came in.
And from Joe Saward's blog:

The general feeling in the paddock seems to be that the fight for victories will be between McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari, but no-one is really sure.
http://joesaward.wordpress.com/Edit: beat to the post!
its funny that all this kind of stuff is written before the season even started. if mercedes had a car capable of winning the early races i could see why someone would writing this like they did with button-rubens case but it all sounds like crap, because if mercedes is third or fourth best car this wont matter at all.

I feared of this. Mercedes want a brand new hierarchy, mainly with German engineers. It seems it wasn't enough to loose both Jenson and Rubens... that's cool. (Or Brawn wants his former collegue to join him - I don't know)
But on other hand: Nico Rosberg has a brand new website, and a twitter account (Nico_Rosberg), we'll see if he is going to be 'active'.
