I think Rossi will stay at Yamaha and I hope Stoner goes to Honda so we can see how good he is on a non Ducati, it might be that after honing himself on the Ducati the Honda is a piece of piss to ride and he just walks off with it. At least it will give us some comparison.
If he does go then who will replace him? Logically you might say swap with Pedrosa, but I actually don't think Dani is that keen to muscle the Ducati around so would only go if he didn't have his contract renewed. If it is renewed, and that depends on this years performances, then maybe Dovi goes and he goes to Ducati .. Italian rider on Italian bike and Dovi is a bit bigger than Dani, more Hayden size which might assist him and the team more than a big and a little guy to get a bike to work for.
Then of course there is Lorenzo, perhaps he will be enticed by some megabucks. That would mean Dovi would go to Yamaha and Rossi would like that more than Lorenzo! But then Spies may continue to impress this year and join Rossi.
We had this last year and it all stayed the same though. Just for interest sake rather than chance of happening I'd like to see
Yamaha => Rossi/Spies
Honda => Stoner/ Pedrosa
Ducati => Lorenzo / Hayden
I doubt it will be like that though. You'd have to be mad to bet on anything at this stage.

Thats what I think is gonna hold up the entire 'huge mix-up' that we could potentially see.
Who on earth would think its a good career move to go to Ducati at this point? Every rider thats gone there the past few years have been humiliated.
Big question is: is Nicky's recent turn to form more of a case of the bike becoming more rideable, or just plain hard work from last year paying off? I think we haven't seen enough yet to really say, and I think it could be a large factor in what happens.

Yes but someone might end up being forced to either move there, or end up in a midfield/backmarker bike. All it takes for it to happen is for the Stoner-Honda move to be confirmed and then Yamaha to decide to take only 1 of their current superstars, promoting Spies. The other Yamaha superstar will have to move to Ducati...
If Rossi/Lorenzo doesn't take it then the backup plan for them will have to be Dovizioso I guess?

As you say anything can happen - but I think Lorenzo and Rossi are in their final year together as team mates - especially if Lorenzo takes the championship this year (he's looking awesome as well)
for sh!ts n Giggles how about:
Yamaha =>Rossi/Spies
Honda =>Dovi/Lorenzo
Ducati =>Stoner/Pedrosa
with Hayden off to WSBC - or even Moto2!
just guessing, but this season has been great so far

It seems front end feel is very tricky on the GP10 and sometimes it just "goes off". They even worked solely on it in their Jerez testing after the race, IIRC.
I thought he had just set the fastest lap of the race?

Here's what he said:
“Once I got to the front I started to get into my rhythm but I lost the front end a couple of times in long corners so I made the decision to try to ride a bit smoother and not put so much pressure on the front tyre with the full tank.
“Unfortunately that is what led to the crash because looking at the telemetry I didn't have enough load on the front, so I guess in hindsight I should have stuck to the way I'd been riding all weekend.
“It's my mistake and I apologise to the team because we'd done a great job this weekend and we leave empty handed.

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2010/May/100516c.htmTwin-cylinder machines to undergo weight reduction from the next SBK round at Miller Motorsports Park.
For the first time in the two and a half years since the regulation was introduced, there will be a change in the new minimum weights applied to the bikes competing in the FIM Superbike World Championship.
Following the official results of Race 2 held at Kyalami (South Africa), the FIM SBK Technical Director has informed that the average value of the event averages over the first six events of the 2010 SBK championship favours the 1000cc 4-cylinder motorcycles by more than 5 points (see the attached document issued by the official time keeping).
As a result, from the next SBK event at Miller Motorsports Park (USA) on 29-30-31 May, the new minimum weight for 1200cc 2-cylinder motorcycles is decreased to 165 Kg, a reduction of 3 Kg as stipulated in Article 2.4.4.2 of the FIM rulebook.
The minimum weight for 1000cc 4-cylinder motorcycles will remain unchanged (162 Kg).

Haga is done then, yeah? I don't see how they can justify keeping him if this is how he's going to perform.
I think the legitimate worries about Haga's career can begin now. Dean Adams at Superbikeplanet commented on how long it took Haga to regain his form after his horrible loss of the Superbike title in 2000. As we all know, after some time in career wilderness, he got back on a Yamaha in 2005 and has ridden brilliantly ever since. Problem is, he probably doesn't have another five years in him to regain his composure. Hopefully he'll come and do some more BSB instead of retiring; it's becoming more and more difficult to see him in a big WSBK team next year.
Biaggi's looking really... equanimous this season. Almost as if, aged 38, he's finally figured out how to race a whole season. Almost enough to make you wonder -- if he hadn't systematically burned every bridge in the MotoGP paddock -- whether he couldn't be a more serious rival to Rossi now than he was 10 years ago. Some riders just get better as they age...
