Agree 100%.Gobert is a funny party guy who is very talented on a bike but gee he pissed a couple of chances away by being a total idiot.Drugs and goofing off cost him dearly.

Lack of character defined by "not my boy!" mother who stalked pitlane and the media who would listen to her twisted bile. I've never been too keen on parents in the garages.

Just wondering if anyone here has been to a MFJ Superbike race (the Japan series). Contemplating going on a trip to Japan late this year (depending on money) and was thinking about the Suzuka race in October...

Anyone got any ideas where i could find any good articles about him (gobert)? Became a bit of a fan when i saw him win a world superbike round as a wildcard back in 2000(I think)

Dean Adams from Superbikeplanet did a lot on Gobert:

Emmi - Caffé Latte by Daniel Epp Honda
TBA Hiroshi Aoyama (JPN)

Aoyama takes #7 for his debut season in the class because Dovizioso runs with number 4.

Team's name is Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team rather than the one above.

Nowhere else to put it, so: How good is Ryan Dungey? He looked like he'd actually fashioned some kind of answer to James Stewart's pace, which is something that Reed and Villopoto have possibly lacked.

Is anyone else following AMA Supercross this year?
Lazy Prodigy
Me. I think Reed got his usual suck start and Stewart was playing with Dungey.
ehagar
I watched the race. Dungey will be one to watch over the season. Don't dismiss Villipoto either.
Chubby_Deuce
Is that new Yamaha 450 all that it's cracked up to be? I imagine it will get faster over the year as it's developed but does it appear that Yamaha has introduced some soon-to-be standard features?

I hope that all that doesnt mean it's not as fast.

Would be a shame if now all the Ducati riders would be in the top 10 but no one would be able to win because it's just not fast enough. That's my biggest concern but i hope Ducati have find a way to balance it off well.

Stoner said that the new bike will lack the top end advantage they've had over the past few years, but the improved driveability outta the corners will still enable them to get close to or equal their old top speeds. And the overall better handling through the twisty stuff will mean the bike should definitely be faster around a whole lap.

We'll see. It'd be great if the Ducati became a bike that wasn't impossible to ride.

Looks organic.

Ill fortune has once again befallen Valentino Rossi in the off season. According to reports on GPOne.com, the multiple world champion was rushed to hospital in Pesaro last night with severe abdominal pains. The reports further state that tests showed Rossi to be suffering from a serious inflammation of the appendix. Doctors treating Rossi decided that emergency surgery was not necessary, and the Italian was sent home to rest.

http://www.motomatters.com/news/2010/01/15...ith_append.html
Atreiu
Shouldn't he have removed it now just so it wouldn't bother him dring the season?
I should have done that when I had it.
carbonfibre
Yep would seem more logical indeed.
giddyup409
naaah... how can val miss that ferrari test smile.gif
beanoid
I think more to the point--he doesn't want to risk missing the test at Sepang on Feb. 4. If the antibiotics work, he could conceivably have it taken care of after the second Sepang test on Feb. 24-25, if need be, and then be ready to roll for Qatar in April, assuming they do it laparoscopically (or however the hell you spell that).

And the Ferrari test next week, of course. biggrin.gif
giddyup409
well if val doesn't show up to the ferrari test next week he might lose his future test opportunities to one fat kentacky nascaroid haystack ;)
evidently yesterday, in front of ferarri's management and sponsors, nicky won in such a dominating fashion a certain closed go-cart event at Madonna di Campiglio. way behind in second was some guy named phillip massa. the spectators were in awe. massa despite being helped by a famous spanish cheat-ah fred alonso with a nelsinho singapore-like crash still didn't get that the briatoresque tech assistance is not an insurance to win a race. convict stoner was too confused with the extra 2 wheels on his red go-cart ducati while searching for the cause of his yammaitis for finishing 3rd

anyways, it is better explained here:

Thanks for those lists, interesting reading; it does show WSS is light compared to the number of teams in MotoGP2. Talking of which I haven't got a clue who is likely to be favourite in that series. As they are all using Honda engines I wonder whether the chassis will make the difference or more the best riders? I suppose we will know that if one set of chassis dominates or tends to always be up there. I get the feeling it might all be very close indeed though and it will be the riders who stand out. With that many riders pretty close could be the most exciting racing of all the series.

An interesting year ahead it has to be said.

Andy
Gilles4Ever
My guess is that half the chassis will go at the end of the year and in a few years there will be maybe 2 to 4 chassis left

Loris Capirossi has quipped that road racing is for the sport's 'real men' - and that the premier class in which he has competed in twelve seasons since 1995 is only 'for girls'.

QUOTE
“Compared to what you guys do I am really a girl, you are real men,” the Italian joked. “I am 100 per cent not thinking about ever going road racing!

“I hope to be in the Isle of Man during TT week to help celebrate Suzuki's 50 years in road racing, but I will be going round in a car!”

IMO it was Monza's idiotic first chicane that ruined Neukirchner's season more than anything else. Why they don't start the bikes on the back stretch, Mid-Ohio style, I don't know... ohwell.gif

Add another 2 Parkingo Triumphs to SuperSport but no Garry McCoy

The youthful ParkinGO Triumph Factory Team will consist of British rider Chaz Davies and American Jason DiSalvo, while Charpentier will be joined by Spaniard David Salom in the ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing squad. All four riders will be running BE1 Racing-prepared versions of Triumph's award-winning three-cylinder Daytona 675-machine.

Rossi then set a best of 1’25.6, which compares well to Kimi Raikkonen’s qualifying record of 1’20.7 – set at the track in 2008.

Is FIAT not the main sponsor anymore?

They'll have a huge "We love you Rossi sticker", a smaller "Stay with us Lorenzo" sticker and lots of "peace and love" stickers all over the place.

1’21.9 today for Rossi. Over a second off the lap record but who knows how good the GP2 tyres are..
