Don't forget that he tossed a refrigerator out of a window together with his brother. Stole a golf cart and drove around causing all kind of trouble. To bad my guy is a teetotaller, or you guys could make fun of him to.

Are you able to understand german? Willi Weber said in this article that it's just untrue and nonsense, he is still his manager.

Some days ago Willi Weber said that it's nonsense what SPIEGEL published. Just the same as what Express (yellow press, btw) writes there.

Express: Will sich Michael Schumacher von Ihnen trennen?
~ MSC wants to part company with you?
Weber: Wer sagt das?
~ Who says that?

Express: Jemand vom Spiegel, im Artikel steht kein Name.
~ Someone from Spiegel, however there's no name.
Weber: Und was schreiben die? Unverschämtheit. Dass ich nicht mehr Michaels Manager sein soll, ist frei erfunden. Absoluter Blödsinn. Wie kommen die überhaupt darauf?
~ And what do they write? Impudence. It's just imaginary that I'm not Micheal's manger anymore. Nonsense. How did they come up with that?

/edit: ok, someone was faster... and quick and dirty translation reads terrible biggrin.gif

r: driver fitness

for all those naysayers - a simple google search woulkd have helped you....

“He's undoubtedly one of the best drivers in the history of the sport. He is, I have no doubt, considerably fitter than other drivers who have become champions in previous years at a greater age than his. It really is a question of whether the design team at Ferrari will give him a package at least the equal of the next best car on the grid. If they do, then Michael will be in a position to win again.”

QUOTE
David believes that Michael Schumacher was the first driver to “take the fitness issue to new levels”. “A circuit like the Hungaroring is incredibly demanding and you can’t relax or you’ll spin off. I know because I’ve made my share of mistakes. Driving is a very uncomfortable job. I can’t think of any other sport to compare with F1. There’s just no rest in a Grand Prix car. For at least ninety minutes you’re at the wheel of a potentially lethal weapon and you cannot allow your concentration to waver for a second”.

I don't know, but - at least concerning F1 - recently they claimed few strange things which come to my mind. Some Weeks ago, when Toyota quit, there was an article about how small teams with few employees and very low budgets like Brawn and Redbull dominated the big teams and that the time when money won races is over etc.

Another thing is a video they published in summer when crashgate became public. The woman speaking said that due to Piquet's crash Alonso won the Singapore GP and the WDC in 2008. But I'm not sure if that vid was from spiegel.de or one of their partners in sports-issues, kicker.de. Ok, that's just a minor issue compared to the article mentioned.

The Mercedes GP team has won the hotly contested battle to secure the sponsorship of Malaysian oil company Petronas, in what it describes as a “long term deal”. The deal is a significant one, worth €30 million per season. Combined with the prize money the team won this season as Brawn GP, which is of the order of €50 million, this gives Mercedes an €80 million budget for 2010 before they themselves have injected anything, or any other sponsors have contributed.

Alongside Ferrari and McLaren, this team is starting to look like a new powerhouse team for Formula 1, something it never was under BAT or Honda ownership. ))))

the wheels are in motion , the domination is already beginning - hmmm, schumacher's odds of winning the wdc is now to down to 5 to 2 , when last week odds were stacked against him at 11 to 1 ....

I would'nt be surprised if we see a 'Rory Byrne has just joined Mercedes' announcement in the coming weeks !

Mercedes Petronas F1 team sounds better to me than Mercedes GP Petronas F1 team. Which circuit will be Mercedes GP Petronas F1 team home circuit - Sepang or Hockenheim?

A blow to Tony Fernandez, the publicity-crazed budget airline tycoon. He was hoping Petronas to back his Malaysian Lotus F1 team with him at the helm. Bravo for Petronas for spending the money with a potential winner than a sure backmarker in Lotus F1 team.

This is what I got from Petronas people in KL's twin towers. Schumacher will be Mercedes GP Petronas F1 driver for at least a year or two depending on his 2010's performance. One of the conditions sets by Petronas before agreeing to back Mercedes team was that Schumacher be hired for at least the 2010 season. Petronas is hungry for world wide exposure and Schumacher will give such exposure to the O&G giant, at least throughout the 2010 season.

By sponsoring Mercedes GP team, Petronas went against the "advice" of the current Malaysian PM Najib Razak. Najib wanted to see Petronas backed Malaysian Lotus F1 team, which carried his political slogan "1Malaysia". Only the interference of Petronas' Chairman (Malaysian ex PM & Najib's mentor/old boss) prevented Petronas Big Boss from getting the boot from this Mercedes sponsorship deal.

Kudos to Petronas for giving Tony Fernandez the middle finger.

That was my first thought when I head about this deal. It is a win-win situation for Merc. They can pay the salary for MS from additional sponsor money, so they effectively get him for free - assuming that he gets 10 million Euro or less per season. This is part of the reason why MS is very attractive for Merc. (If what you heard is true, then another implication would be that they assume that MS will pass all medical checks. Otherwise, they would have postponed the announcement of the Petronas deal.)

where do you find those odds? 'worst' odds for ms winning are around 1:5. more realistic odds are 1:8

According to Bild Michael was in Brackley and signed his contract. One year, 7 million euro:

If it's true then I'm expecting an official announcement tomorrow (to make it before Christmas). But I wonder what happened to the test? Or were the med checks so good that they didn't find it necessary after all? Or did they already do it secretly?
