Happy for Mortara. He's a great driver and a nice guy.

I just hope this result doesn't make him think about going back to F3. He should be back in GP2 next season. I reckon he could have a shot at the title.

No, Bottas hit the wall and Sam Bird got 3'rd and Bottas down to 5'th with Ericsson 4'th.

Sorry . blush.gif

That's what happens when you watch a foreign transmission in another language but english. tongue.gif

Found some clips from today's race on YouTube. Particularly this one, which shows the chaos on the first lap! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1V26b5aecQs

One of the best races i've seen all year. Really great clean fight all race long for the win. Well done to Mortara.

Finally just watched it, and it was a good race this year, entertaining. Mortara's win is a little surprising, hope it gets his career back on track, as he just had quite a disappointing year in GP2.

Vernay and Bottas did very well for their first years, shame for the small mistakes which cost them a win and a podium respectively. Favourites Bianchi, Ricciardo and Hartley will be annoyed at getting themselves involved in incidents - Bianchi was doing alright actually as he overtook several guys but then he started losing pace, not sure what happened?

Anyone get the impression that Hartley's career is beginning to stall? Or at least beginning to threaten to stall. lol.gif

TS says it was a loose wheel bolt that damaged his last laps, nothing about hitting a wall... Well anyway an impressive first Macau race weekend for him up.gif

Sadly, yes. 2009 was unfortunate for him really. Carlin never looked on song on the EuroSeries tyre all year until Brands. Chuck in a few dissapointing WSR performances and a lousy Macau (After a promising 2008 attempt) and you have yourself a pretty much stagnant puddle of a year....

Hope he hits back in 2010!

Wasn't too big of a surprise to me. He was a contender for a win at Macau last year, too. He's definitely a talented guy. I still remember his drive in the wet at Pau in F3. It was something to behold.

GP2 is a strange series sometimes. You'll see certain drivers thrive in certain teams and falter in others. Luca Filippi was actually a strong contender at one point. But when he went to ART(I think?), he was struggling to get top 10 finishes. Lucas Di Grassi has also had more fortune at surprising teams. I think Mortara just needs to find his stride in the right team.

And now, a different angle replay of the craziest F3 shunt of the year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lqra8uZdrlE

Was that in the qualifying race, or main one on Sunday?

Edit: think I've answered my own question; Saturday by the looks of things.
