Well, Fry seems rather pissed:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80208

Q. Would you have liked to have seen more loyalty given that you gave him a world championship-winning car this year?

NF: Clearly, loyalty would be nice but in this day and age you don't expect too much of that. I'm always happy when any employee leaves our company if I think that they've made the right decision and they are going to a better job and they always go with our blessing if that is the situation. In this situation, we don't understand the logic of the decision and I think Jenson is going to have to up his game if he's going to beat Lewis on home territory.

That's the guy but what he's saying in the interview is that Kimi to Merc is a possibility but he thinks Kimi has his mind set on rally.

Sure Kimi is keen on on rally but he´s for sure about F1 also. Two, maybe three years in F1 and still he has plenty of time rallying. It takes some years for him to make it in rally. There´s no sense to drive rally for one year, come back to F1 and then really start rally to see how far he can get.

I hope seeing him at Merc next season but whoaah I saw him last August in Rally Finland. The man really knows how to drive car..

WOW - I think whats happened is that with losing Button to McLaren, MercGP have shat themselves with the realisation that they have no out and out team leader

That's what i think aswell

Serves them right IMO

Brawn would be reluctant to spend a lot of money on a driver. He can get Heidfeld for next to nothing and hire a dozen engineers or spend the extra cash on CFD hardware/software for example.

Ross is reluctant to spend a lot of money on Button... wink.gif

And Kimi himself has not commented anything on the subject yet, everything we've heard about his situation has came from his manager.

Fingers crossed, I'd love to see Kimi driving a Mercedes.

It sounds to me like tacit acknowledgement, that Button on current form is not up to the task of beating Hamilton and can only do so if he improves. eek.gif

I did not say I am not happy to see Kimi race, just that his deal is with Red Bull. It's aready been agreed 2011 is Kimi s year with RBR. Moreover, wHy go to MercedEs and play 2nd fiddle to Nico. I know he is their choosen one and nothing can change this. This team has bad karma for Kimi.

I must say that Kimi has negotiated with Brawn during the season.

indeed, for all we know, Brawn was KR's ideal destination. all the sweeter now that it has Merc money.

I seem to recall a very insightful comment in the post-Monza thread from someone here: smile.gif

QUOTE (Mila @ Sep 13 2009, 08:35) *
KR did well, again. I've seen all the episodes of "Lie to Me." so, based on my vast expertise, I'll surmise that, judging from interactions on the podium and in the PC, he's gunning for a spot at Brawn.

but, seriously, who knows what KR's intent is, particularly given that there is absolutely no reason he should tip his hand for our benefit.

This is a German team and Nico is their golden boy. Kimi is of course 10x better but would you trust Mercedes especially if they give Ross Brawn strict instuctions to make Nico win it at all costs. Expect Kimi to be treated like Rubens.

Hilarious. I'm trying to convince myself it's nothing, zero chance but I can't. Yea it's logical hire Kimi when Ross lose his prima champion, also they has already touched earlier. But in the end Ross and Kimi tough guys, they keep their words.

Man, youre annoying. Youre like the Kimi fan version of MaxF1. Please stop. You are making Kimi fans look bad. Whatever you write here will have no effect what so ever on that Red Bull contract of yours.
If Kimi goes to Merc, he goes to Merc. And that would be the only sensible thing to do for Kimi in my opinion. Postpone the sabbatical and kick ass with Mercedes.

Don't believe Brawn expected to lose Button. Hence the 'don't do it' comments just beforehand and the sour grapes after the Button/McLaren announcement. And then, just possibly, a scramble to sign a 'star name'.

First thought was that this must be BS. Now, I think its just about possible.
Doubt that a full contract would have been agreed so fast.
But 'heads of agreement' just possibly.

More likely that there has been contact and serious discussion, but our Brazilian pal has stuck his neck out somewhat to be slightly ahead of reality.

Yep. Also Fry mentioned they want two year deal with Button so it's also could be the reason for him to jump in Mclaren.

Maybe before Mercedes bought Brawn he was only considering Mclaren. Brawn might have really gone downhill next year without proper backing.

Now they seem at least equal to Mclaren if not a better choice. Mclaren will lose 0.4s with KERS and are behind in aero development.

There's no KERS next year. 2010 development has probably disconsidered it all along, for all teams.

I'd imagine it's no more accurate than its source material:

QUOTE
A reputable source on Brazilian SporTV has stated that Kimi Raikkonen has finalized a deal to race for the new Mercedes Grand Prix outfit for 2010
.

It all goes back to the veracity of the Brazilian report. Bleacher adds no new foundations.

Got to love the people that take that Brazil is like the movie City of God or something. I `ve lived in Sao Paulo for almost 20 years, never been assaulted and Yet, people take sensationalism way out of porportion.

The source is creadible, guys. It is from a Brazilian Journalist that has been covering F1 for more than 30 years. Anyway, I would bet that Brazilian Sport`s Jornalism is miles away in credibility from the Spanish, French and British Tabloids press....

Yeah, I love it when I have lived abroad and people ask me if Brazil is like that in the movie. Is like asking if the U.S is the same as in Goodfellas or trainning day. The ignorance some people have about Brazil is messed up.

Interestingly, Mercedes is one of the sponsors of Raikkonen Robertson Racing.
