So there has been much debate of late as to which car prodrive have been supposedly working on with regards to a return to the WRC. Most sources tend to suggest its going to be the the new Mini Crossover:

One hopes that not all bridges are burnt with Subaru and that they might just be pursuaded to come back into world rally with that monster looking beast!

Much better than current Impreza. Everything goes better with 22" rims according to designers!

Why were the late model Imprezas so rubbish? Boxer engine? Drivers? Lack of money?

Please the Mini! Please! Inject some 'character' into WRC, even if that Crossover looks plain wrong!

By all acounts, just simply development budget. Subaru did a Toyota and pretty much as all Japense car firms do it seems, they get guys in to run a programme and then they slowly start taking over that operation and begin to think they can do it just as well themselves and make all the key decisions with regards to base car design.

Unfortunately Prodrive then had to work with what they were given. Subaru waited for too long in my opinion before switching from the four door saloon to a hatchback, but unfortunately the current Impreza looks like a damn Mazda 3!

If Subaru produced the above for the road... sales would start soaring again I believe... Just as Skoda's would if they built a proper 2.0litre 4x4 Fabia (Basically a Golf Type R) rather than that diesel VRS!
