ahhh.. so felipe baby still moaning, whining and bitching around. (Y) keep it felipe.

But first time, I partially agree to it. But you know what felipe? I'm absolutely not a fan of button, in fact i lost all respect for him now. but guess what? he is a world champion now, no matter whatever anyone thinks... fortunately for him, unfortunately from our POV, he is a WC and well everyone has to admit to that.

so everyone knows you are bitter that YOU are not the WC, still.

please concentrate on urself. wave.gif moreover, Massa .. Just think when (IF) you will (ever) become a champion, just think what will people say about you then lol.gif wave.gif

Well Felipe, Jenson has something you don't and probably never will, a WDC

What happened to the nice, respectful Felipe ?

I don't think it ever really existed- from time to time he came forward with comments like this (save the lost WDC, it was a big exception)- remember his comments about Sutil for example.

What's the point of this topic? Massa just said what everyone already knew.

Felipe Massa said today to ESPN Brazil that all other World Champions are better than Jenson Button:
Do you think this is a general perception in Formula 1 among drivers, mechanics and team chiefs?

http://espnbrasil.terra.com.br/automobilis...PEAO+MAIS+FRACO

If I read Massa's silence like this,...
"Hamilton and Alonso are great drivers. Kimi is excellent, I really didnt understand all the critiques that people were throwing at him. When he was on MY TAIL, TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH MY PACE BEHIND ME THEN I KNEW THAT I AM DEFINITELY QUICKER THAN KIMI, BUT I KNOW KIMI IS QUICKER THAN BUTTON. SO all of them are better than Button"

I guess he is trying to place himself in a position as high as Alonso for the next year... yawnface.gif

I think it's rude from Felipe to say something like that publicly but I do not doubt that is the general perception though.

Nope biggrin.gif Just beating Flippi! Vettel or Kubi for WDC! Or even Ham! I like his driving style. It´s just his character that hinders me to get a fan of him.

His comment were more positive than negative; he praised three former champions at the same time. Fernando & Lewis = great, Kimi = excellent. Massa! up.gif

Uh-oh. Massa states the obvious and gets hammered on an internet forum by fanboy brigade.

Or maybe we are witnessing emerging of brand new, pro-PR brigade? Let all the drivers be robots who never can speak their minds and only talk corporate, PC bullshit.

I find the new Massa refreshing.

Give the guy some slack. He's bored. For a while he had too much time rather than running from race to race and sponsorship events.
zarooch
he's speaking.. 'okay' but he will have to listen to such comments when people say about him much worse things... what goes around, comes around. Felipe better STFU.

And no, I am not a massa fan at all.

He is trying, altough I don't think he will. He will be much humble after the 2010 year. Felipe baby patience...

How's the bump on the head coming along Felipe? Not too great by the sound of the immoderate trash talking and out of character. It's not the respectful little guy after losing WDC at Interlagos 2008.

I'm even more confident that his injury will prevent him rekindling his old form which had been terrific. Is this an angry gene coming through or a stupid gene? How could he possibly know for sure about Jenson's ability as comparisons to other champions are second and third hand. Jenson beat Rubens who lost to Michael tells us nothing about jenson v Kimi.

I can see Ferrari are likely to have personnel issues next year.

Its all mind games, he went up in my estimation, now he goes back down.
The fact is, he wont ever be a wdc, and he has been in a ferrari that won, is he bitter ? sounds like it to me.
Maybe he needs a change of visor or something tongue.gif

Looks like Massa actually did suffer brain damage. His tears will be very sweet next year. Just imagine what he's gonna say about people who make him suffer - because until now he has been bashing people who didn't make him suffer at all. That's gonna be very entertaining.

regarding massa, he seems like a different guy. talking way too much

I don't think he is. He just gets asked more questions now since 08 result and the accident, he isn't driving so the only thing to talk about is other people. Anyway most of the questions are a set up and he's always said what he wants. The accident may or may not have changed him, I don't believe it has and I like he says what he wants. Even when I don't argree with what he comes out with, we all spend our time moaning about how drivers are PR robots well he isn't. Make up your minds tongue.gif
Paolo
Sometimes people actually change personality, for the worse, after a bad accident.
I recall Mike Thackwell was generally regarded as a case.

well i would say Button is better then Massa so, felippe STFU.
come on fellipe why all this bashing what exactly are u trying to prove?
MinT
He is doing nothing other than pilling pressure on himself if/when he returns to the cockpit.

Alonso has obviously already put the wind up him bad and all his comments recently are just comfort blanket stuff where he is trying to convince himself he is a great driver.

Rob Smedley needs to get on the phone and make the usual soothing noises before Massa puts his foot in it big time.

Regardless of what Massa/anyone thinks Button is WDC and Massa to this point is an also ran. Noone in their right mind can seriously think he will beat Alonso next year.
Anssi
It is rude of Felipe Massa, but yes, I would agree with him on this.

Let's see:

Lewis Hamilton
Kimi Räikkönen
Fernando Alonso
Jenson Button

Hmmm, which one of those has had a mediocre career in F1 up until just very recently? Yup, Jenson Button. He also seemed weak in the second half of the season. And even though he was insisting he is not, it looked like he was cracking under pressure, and he sounded desperate many times during the season.

It's great he won it, congratulations to Jenson, you completely deserve it. But if we compare him to the other 3 mentioned, he is the weakest one.

And I have to say that I don't think the hit in the head has caused Felipe to give out such statements. Perhaps some of you people have not been paying attention, but I think he has done that for years in F1. He IS a little man compensating for his small size and feeling of insecurity by being egotistical and outspoken against others. That's him. Like it or not, that's him cat.gif I've gotten used to it and expect to hear more of it - as we know many said after he had woken up after the accident that he is still the same person, so yes, more of this is expected. Keep it up, Felipe! You are a funny little man cat.gif
steph90
I don't see why he couldn't beat him. He got close to Kimi a lot but Kimi is seriously flawed and my mind tells me Alonso should win but I don't see the point in ruling anyone off. Surely in 07 it was 'noone in their right mind could think Hamilton could challenge Alonso' in o6 'noone in their right mind could think that Massa could put in good results with Schuey/kimi their', in 09'noone in their right mind could think new team Brawn could win both titles' . It's formula 1. It isn't rational. lol.gif

Why? he's not saying he will beat Alonso or anything like that. He's confident but he knows Alonso is a huge challenge.

about his comments on Button, I bet many drivers on the grid agree with him, Raikkenon and Webber think it's the car too. Massa is just more blunt.

all these jokes about his injury are tasteless.

I think this is why most drivers are so boring. As soon as one says what he thinks out come the tears. Massa is asked where he ranks Button among champions and he responded with what he though. What is wrong with that?

Well, it's the tone. An example: If you ask a foreigner how he likes Britain he could either say "It sucks. The people are ugly, the food is horrible and it always rains." or he could put it nicer as in "The people are nicer than they look, the food is different and I can save a lot of money not needing sunblocker.". See?

People like DC, Irvine and so on were considered openhearted too. But when they badmouthed a competitor they did it tongue in cheek and in better style.
acelik
Felipe is right about button but button deserved to be champion.

However it's true that FM is speaking so much in these days. He has to keep some of his thoughts in his brain! I love FM but he shouldn't answer all the questions that journalists ask!

you can't accurately judge the tone unless you speak Portuguese. And not every cultures are so fussy about tone and style, some may prefer directness to "putting it nicely"

Well, I agree that Hamilton Alonso and Kimi are superior drivers than button...I mean...for some reason Brawn/Mercedes didn't look that desperate about keeping Button...they seem to find it an acceptable loss....then again I might be wrong but I never rated button that highly...

He is a competent driver, that's what allways comes to my mind when I think of him....capable of delivering when the car is there but not the kind of driver that can make a real diference on his talent alone...

So true.

Massa tells it as he sees it. He isnt far from the mark on most occasions.
