Real or Unreal.?

Given the way the seller spelled Jim's name, I think that should be 'Reale or Unreale?'

The car is in Cork.....maybe it is spelt with an 'e' there !

I think you mean 'Corke'.

looks real enough........................
RTH
Clearly this sort of car and the history of motor racing are new to this seller, his descriptions may be wide of the mark, but as Gary says, bar some'updating! ' it does look real enough and may well be right ?

"In need of light restoration"......maybe he is an estate agent ?

If the car is in Cork (or Corke), it will probably enjoy "Sea views", is that in the description?

Less wise cracks and more about the car, please!!

Limited market for such a car that should have a Cosworth SCA fitted for which, as yet, there is no series/championship

Some remarks, the rivets on the "dashboard" look a bit un-Lotuslike also that the "dashboard" should be covered in red leather(ette). Would also be nice to know the chassis number.

Had to re-register myself to get back in.....What's happening here ?
Anyway, there was at least one Lotus 32 in Ireland (Gerry Kinnane-Luke Duffy) along with a 35 also owned at various times (I think) by the above. Both were originally in green/yellow (32) or green/gold (35) and both were said at the time to be ex-works, but then so was just about anything else that crossed the Irish Sea at the time......
But in Cork ? The only Cork-based Lotus I recall is the ex-Richie Heeley Lotus 31 which was campaigned by a gent called T.Q Osbourne - the Duckhams rep in the area as I recall. However there's a wealth of difference between a 32/35 and a 31. The plot thickens- if it isn't thick enough already.....

The 31 can be ruled out, because it wasn't a monocoque (see cockpit shot)

The Heeley car left Cork in October 1985. At the time I had good contacts down there but never heard about a Lotus 32. I really don't think the car raced "in period" over here. Would love the car, a bit dear though.

It appears all of chances to buy the car have gone, advert withdrawn! So where is it now, has someone bought it?

Perhaps it was a scam !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
kayemod
Maybe the seller decided to take advantage of the Government scrappage scheme.

Some info here from one who would know...all academic I suppose as the ad is now redacted.*

'...The dashboard is non Lotus and the instruments are wrong. The Rev counter was chronometric then...now impossible to get
The big rivets on the dash and floor were never used by Lotus
Lotus badge stuck on the steering wheel !
He has spotted on the steering rack, ball joints
( top pic right) that were never fitted to a 1964 car.
The engine should be a Cosworth 1.0 SCA......they were rare 20 years ago. Unlikely to have that with the bits supplied
The gearbox is a 6speed.....again impoossible to find.....'

* I hope I have used this New Labour word in the right context !
