Without a doubt,
1983.
So many different looking cars, and different concepts.
Turbo and atmospheric engines, from 4 to 12 cylinders, conventional suspension as well as hydraulic (Ligier) and active (Lotus), arrow shaped cars (Brabham, Osella, Ligier) and the Coke Bottle appearance (McLaren), the Ferrari upswept sidepods, short sidepods (Williams, Tyrrell) and long ones (Renault, Theodore), the introduction of side winglets, so many different air intakes, Toleman actually sporting a double wing and a full width nose, the incredible early RAM-March with its prolonged tail (any pic of that pre-season model?)...
Crazy driving too, a year long battle with so many different winners and Rosberg performing a 360 and still charging at the front in the US GP...
it was a dream and , as it was only my second year following F1, I was convinced this was normal.
Quickly grasped the reality in the following years, and actually started enjoying the show a lot less in 1984 already, with Mc Laren's dominance that would go on for so many years bar a few and the gradual homologation of shapes.

That's it.
1983 was the first year after ground effect, which made the cars instable to drive, resulting in wonderful racing. And the first year before fuel limitation, which was a huge setback.
