On 7 August 1949 there was a race entitled GP de l'ACF at St. Gaudens. Despite the title, it was run for sports cars. Luigi Chinetti finished second in this race in a Ferrari 166, but was disqualified. I find references to this disqualification being "controversial" but have yet to find any details. Can anyone help with this.

BTW, winner was Chas Pozzi in a Delahaye.

Charles Pozzi (b. august 27, 1909, Paris - d. february 28, 2001, Levallois-Perret [near Paris]). In the 60's became the french official Ferrari dealer until his death.
