Yeah BullHead, this is Katsui Kubota who drove the car for Classic Team Lotus in 2008. Dan Collins drove another one just like it. This picture looks like it could have been taken at Monza or Brands. The two cars look ab fab when in the pits together. It is the famous double chassis car that was banned at Silverstone. The third car that was re-hashed for the race is driven in HFO by Dave Coplowe and prepared by Martin Stretton. up.gif

The Ligiers often had beautiful liveries, eg. this JS11/15. Pre-sponsorship Ferraris, Maseratis, Bugattis etc.

Yes, the JS 11/15 with Didier Pironi´s white and blue helmet!

Not my favourites, but a couple of funny ones:

OnyxF1
My favourite livery was the Marlboro McLaren one. Don't know why but I always liked it. The Rothmans Williamses come a close second though.
Pink Snail
Also like the yellow/black (again!) Minardi in Simod livery driven by Nannini and Martini - now belongs to Rodrigo Gallego in Portugal and driven on occasion in the HFO Championship. May also have been driven by Adrian Campos!

I loved the cat up the airbox...

Thank you for posting everything I needed. This to me is modern day equivalent of the JPS.

Yeah. In their individual liveries the launch showcars looked really cool. The combined thing though... well, different I guess. First new team for a while too if I remember correctly, it was quite exciting off season 98-99

Yeah I loved the original BAR liveries:

I like the blue one espically, I'm guessing Jacques Villeneuve was meant the race in the white car and Ricardo Zonta in the blue one (going by car numbers).

Porn warning, just look at that ass, the curves on that body...

I used to love the 1993 Williams with the SEGA livery with the cartoon driver on the sides of the cockpit.
Sadly I don't have a picture... drunk.gif

for me, aside from so many beautiful liveries, the early 1996 Jordan yellow Benson & Hedges livery looked damned good to me...
it was an interim livery before the gold version, but it looked so beautiful and uncluttered (even while Brundle was sailing across the gravel trap in Australia that year).

By doing research I've quickly become a fan of the Lotus designs. Colin Chapman knew what he was doing.

Camel was a Lotus

It's Senna's 1987 99T with active suspension.
Birelman
For me, JPS Lotus was the best one of all, then the Marlboro cigarette case one worn by McLaren, then I think the Camel Lotus, the Camel Benetton was good too, and the Williams Rothmans was beautiful. I liked thw West McLarens mostly cus I like Mercedes, so I thought silver was cool for the silver arrows, but not as cool as the previous ones I mentioned, at least for me.

My fave & the last McLaren V12 raced

Couple not shown that i've always liked

Sweet as Candy, Tyrrell

The United Colours in all their glory, Benetton. (Yes that's Mika Häkkinen!)

Muz Bee
That's easy - JPS Lotus 72. Then a string of Ferraris without too much reference to tobacco brand....

The first Tyrrell (001) with the flat shovel front wing was gorgeous, damn it just about any early 70s car, like the Yardley McLaren M23.
maccaFTW
This one will always take the cake for me.

This was the Pre-Briatore, Benneton?

Also, how did Mika's contract work such that he drove at Benneton whilst under contract from McLaren?

Mika is in a B188 or B189 in that picture... so it's veeeeeeeeeeery much before he signed with McLaren. He must have been in F3 at that time.

Hmm, I don't think so, that thread is about car design in general, this one about liveries / paint jobs.

All of the JPS Lotus looked good. Especially the 79, but a lot of them.
