Go take a look at the charts again. Massa was the only one who improved from q2 to q3 and Alonso's loss of time was about average of what everybody's else lost. And btw this loss of time from q2 to q3 can be explained by the drop in track temperature.
It wasn't temperature alone, It was cooler by 4 degrees according to f1.com in Practice 3 and Alonso was 6 tenths faster(1:54.099) in that session than his Q3 time.

First grats to Massa, good job.
best times today:
Alonso 1:54.172
Massa 1:54.242
So, it was an Alonso´s mistake in the 2nd sector.
Anyway,i repeat, very well, massa!

It's meaningless to compare practice with q3. From q2 to q3 the temperature dropped 8 degrees and Alonso lost 0.436.

Word to the drivers, PLEASE DO NOT CRASH at the start!
This is exactly what i hope !!! With a large tank of fuel, the first corner is very dangerous. And Vettel is a famous poor starter. As a McLaren fan, I hope Ferrari drivers can force Vettel to destroy his tyres. Then Lewis may have some chances to be on the podium. Anyway, good luck,Ferrari. I just don't want to see Redbull wins

Why because Vettel is kicking Webber's ass?...what was the gap 1 sec
Well, tomorrow the winner will be either Vettel or Alonso.
My guess is that Alonso will jumpstart Massa, being Felipe in dirty side.
Fernando racecraft will be the typical fiercely one.
RBR will degrade rear tyres earlier than Ferrari and Fernando will be P1 after first tyre change pitstop.
My only doubt with this scenario is that Renault engine consumption will help Sebastian to have a significative lighter car (10-15 kgs) during whole GP,so he will be lighter, his tyres will get less wear and resist the whole GP in P1.
Ferrari and Fernando anyway were saying after Barcelona that RBR was the best car by 2 tenths anyway.

Oh, Alonso's mistake is no excuse at all ROTFLMFAO!!!!
The fact is, Massa did NOT make a mistake, meaning, he drove better? Very much like it used to happen with Raikkonen.
No surprises for me, Massa is a seriously fast driver, I've always said that I wouldn't be in the least bit embarassed by being outqualified by him, but, this was the stickng point in "proving" (at least for some of you guys) that Raikkonen stank and that he needed to be replaced by Alonso if Ferrari was to have a chance. Well, it don't look much different, does it? Even if Fernando comes tomorrow, and beats Massa, and goes on to win the Championship even if Massa out Qs him 60% of the time, you will still say, racing is where it counts, and then, well, wouldn't that still not be better than Raikkonen did?
So yea, same excuses, sorry to point out.

So Kimi fans are now trying to equate being out qualified once to being beaten for 2 years?. You guys really are desperate. Its Alonso's first race for the team and he made a mistake and did a really slow S2. Come and talk at the end of the season if Massa whips Alonso like he did Kimi.

Actually, I'm not really a fan of any of these drivers. To be completely honest, I'm just being an A**, really. I mean, it was pretty funny to read all the anti Raikkonen coments based on the fact that Massa did well against Raikkonen, so obviously Raikkonen = crap. It seems like you guys had it all figured out with the math and all
[(MS = faster than Massa)= (Massa = faster than Raikkonen)] (Alonso = faster than MS) = (Alonso = .6 tenths) = (faster than Massa) = (Raikkonen = Crap) = (Alonso WDC) or some equation along those lines LOL.
It was really stupid, really, people who don't understand much about the sport.
I don't read much from this result so far, but you have to admit, it's actually pretty funny. Massa is a formidable opponent, people need to understand that, and losing to him does not belittle Fernando at all. I just thought I'd give some people a taste of their own medicine

Definitely no room for such mistakes but apparently Alonso said he didn't make a mistake and was more focused on the race, so that could explain why Massa was so much faster suddenly when he was behind all the time. We will see tomorrow anyway, but I worried faster cars will get stuck and not be able to overtake.

Alonso was the fastest Ferrari in all qualy sessions. However, Massa was the better racer.

Great job for Massa!! Alonso did great too, but I heard on Speedtv that Massa is still struggling with form (physical) so I fear for his race pace - OTOH, he can only improve from now on! To beat Alonso by .4, that's a lot! Very happy for him - that's how you show you've recovered.
So yes, I bet on him to beat Alonso this year (not based on this qualy, but for what I rate Massa as a driver) . Although I'm a big fan of Alonso as a racer, I'll be supporting Massa until the guy gets a WDC. Then he won't be the underdog anymore, so then will see.

maybe I didn't write it very clear. All I meant was that Massa is the type of driver that it's not fully appreciated at his true value. That 's why I said that maybe only after winning several WDCs he might be appreciated as a top driver by some haters.
P.S.Look at Button, he's WDC but some people don't rate him very well at all

Very sure Pole or Second place was possible for Alonso, but something happened on his last run. Still I take nothing away from Vettel.
I have to say that Fred did seem somewhat peeved to be third.
His scowling and drawn expression, and lack of social interaction with the other drivers while weighing in, really made him seem shocked and even angry.
He certainly didn't look pleased or relaxed about qualifying third, and behind his team-mate.
The Hamilton thing all over again - this wasn't supposed to happen!
In contrast, Felipe-baby seemed genuinely happy with second (and ahead of his team-mate).
Fred looked far and away the least happy of the top ten at the weigh-in.
Much less happy even than MS - who was prepared to play to the cameras after being spotted taking a close look at the left hand side of the inside of the McLaren cockpit!
I'm afraid that Fred looks to me as though he is going to consolidate his reputation as Mr Grumpy.
Its going to be VERY interesting to see if Stefano can keep everyone playing for the team ...
