Lotus engine start up will be tomorrow (Sat 6 Feb) - originally planned several weeks ago to be today.

I did see the wheels being delivered - They look better than any other team's so far IMHO.

Campos has probably been fired up by Dallara, but not delivered.

USF1 was supposed to be fired up already if you believe Racecar Engineering mag. However some sources say not even the engines have been delivered yet.

Lotus, cant wait to see their car, will be an awesome addition to have a nice stunning green car on the grid again

The fact that Lotus are ahead of the other new teams after starting later just goes to show what a farce Mosely made when he chose the new teams. I hope F1 thinks about new teams in advance and whether the personell will be able to help the team go.

I wonder if we'll get some photos from the shakedown tomorrow?

Virgin looks to be the one ahead having already done their shakedown and about to be the first to join testing at Jerez. However if the car turns out to be a dud due to their CFD gamble, Lotus would be the one in front.

Then again I think Force India already did their shakedown yesterday or somesuch and we haven't seen any pics. Or I heard wrong and FI's shakedown is after their launch today.

Well It is roughly (ROUGHLY) coming up to 3pm malaysia time, but I highly doubt the shakedown would take place at sepang right? So should be tonight at silverstone maybe? Hope we get some pictures, i like green F1 cars.

I think they want it doubled; to get attention with their shakedown and to get attention with their London debut. The F1 geeks may see the car today, the average audience, who don't even know about the shakedown, will see it on Friday.

It should still have ACBC in the logo IMO, this is an insult to Chapman's legacy. Would you take the prancing horse off the Ferrari logo, not a chance.

Any opinions as to why they deemed it necessary to modify the original logo? Doesn't make sense unless there are legal issues still on the use of the original Lotus brand in F1

I hope Lotus do well so that Lotus realise what pussies they are.

Shakedown started. Quite a few tears. Winner to launch announce tmw. Need some Finnish and Italians to write in.

It was my understanding that they have the blessing of Proton, Lotus Cars, The Chapman family and David Hunt. As far as copyright goes they are using the Lotus name and the basic symbol and colours that are associated with Lotus historically so I have difficulty believing there is a copyright problem.

They've butchered the Lotus symbol for what?

I understand the unease but it is still a logo that will make for some pretty evocative paddock photography this season.

Lotus the vehicle manufacturer who didn't want them using their name or badge.

If for some reason this car turns out respectable, or even 'does a Brawn', I wonder if Lotus the vehicle manufacturer will sneakily try and associate their cars with it.

I think the colours are near enough, but no Petronas of course! The trucks have a lot of white on them... but that could just be the trucks and have no bearing on the car whatsoever...

Yes... I too am looking forward to the Lotus car pictures soon.

But I reckon it will look a little like the 1960's Lotus Elite racing livery. I think there were three, brg and Yellow, Cream, brg and yellow and Yellow and brg.
