I liked the yellow-black livery before I saw this:
http://90right.files.wordpress.com/2009/10...ault-v2-car.jpg

Silver-yellow-white with little red is for me a big WOW love.gif

And I don't like this boring yellow-black anymore ;)

I have the same feelings.

But it would be 3rd "silver arrow team" in 2010 biggrin.gif

*and with a little tweaking would make a fine Nespresso Sauber livery.

It is indeed. That's what a livery should look like, not that crappy 30th Anniversary livery that was far too busy.

I agree with r4mses in 100%.

World didn't see ugliest car (shape combined with livery) than R29.

Totals corporate colour is Red, the wing will be red with Total written on them, if Total cough up more money to have their name on the sidepods, then the sidepods will be red.

The colour scheme will be Yellow and Black, with Red for Total, there will be no grey on it.

just found on confidential-renault forum a post by someone supposed to work in enstone, saying that 2nd driver is signed, a nice one, not French, but speaking french and someone that had contact with renault before.

Probably this is some troll and a piece of bullshit, but just wanted to share the rumour;)

It seems Renault want to announce their second driver when they release their car next week. They'll no doubt want to sign that second driver as quickly as possible - but they'll also know they'll have a hard time keeping it under wraps. And I know the serious implication here is that the second driver will be Villeneuve, since he speaks French and has driven for them before, so I'm writing this rumour off as BS.
MadYarpen
funny thing is that none of available drivers, besides heidfeld, will be able to get closer than 0.5 sec to robert in my opinion... And compared to what boulier said about pushing kubica it is scary.

Could also mean Bertrand Baguette (belgian, surely speaks french?), altho I'm not sure neither Baguette or Villeneuve qualify as "nice"!

Where did you get this from?
Gilles4Ever
Are those sponsors or suppliers? I would be surprised if Magnetti Marelli or HP was sponsoring them in any form

Carlo's
This is barteks post from F1wm.

There are sponsors and official partners. HP is the supplier of hardware and computer equipment. Magneti Marelli is also official partner (maybe electrical systems or something like this).

I suppose most of them are suppliers. Didn't Magnetti Marelli supply Reno with KERS? Or it was Brakes, I don't remember now.

I sorted partners from above picture:

Official Partners:

Bridgestone

Official Suppliers:

altran
ELYSIUM
GF AgieChamilles
hp
Magneti Marelli
NetApp
OZ racing
piquardo
Processia Solution
Symantec
Vistagy

Partners CFD:

CO-adapco

I don't knew:

OMP

It's based on last year partnres' list: http://www.confidential-renault.fr/Partena...ution-cr208-i24

And it's quite scary. Because last year Reno had 36 (37 with ING as a titl sponsor) partners and on picture posted by Carlo's are only 16 partners.

But again, I don't knew from where this picture was taken.

Yes, this news appeared on Turun Sanomat, which I think is very reliable surce, but only there.

On the other hand we knew that HEI is the best of available drivers. For weeks now a lot of websites and magazines repotring that Reno wants the best driver who could push Kubica. Boullier said it by himself.

So nothing certain yet, so please dont use "are believed' technique wave.gif

Fingers crossed for JV @ Renault in 2010!

The Renault team was recently bought out by Luxembourg-based businessman Gerard Lopez, and lost a number of major sponsors over the last few months over the Fixgate scandal, so a paying driver in their second seat looks to increasingly be the preferred option for the French squad.

frown.gif Yeah, that's sad, big team like Reno needs paydriver...

But I can uderstand them, look at my calculates that I posted earlier. Last year Reno had 37 partners with title sponsor, this year they have only 16 partners

Why do people pronounce Renault as 'Ren-No'

When the correct pronunciation is 'Ruun-No'

confused.gif drunk.gif
CaptainJackSparrow
I knew it would be Petrov, and good, Renault needs to make money and not blow money, Petrov has the backing of Gazprom etc so good stuff, there's potential there for increased sponsorship etc for Renault in the future as well.

I don't expect him to challenge Kubica but as long as he stays out of trouble and brings the car home in the points occasionally then he will make a perfectly adequate no 2.

I'm glad it's not Heidfeld, the Kubica-Heidfeld dynamic had grown a bit stale, another year or same ol same ol would have been spirit crushing.

Time to shake things up a bit, new blood etc.

QUOTE
When its cars were exported to the United States during the 1950s and 1960s, the name was commonly mispronounced as "Ren-alt" to and by the American public, and the Americanized pronunciation continues in common usage, though the original French has gained significant ground over recent years. This was partially countered in the 1980s, when Renault launched a significant television advertising campaign in the United States. The ads featured the tag, "The one to watch," followed by a deep-voiced announcer carefully intoning the brand name. Presently in the United Kingdom it is also incorrectly pronounced as "Reh-no". The correct pronunciation is "Ruh-no".

+1. And anyway most people say Reno not Runo. If most people pronounce it one way it stays that way whether it's wrong or not.

Back on topic, I thought Renault didn't need a pay driver so why would they sign Petrov, surely they don't think he is the driver that can push Kubica to the maximum?
wingwalker
I wouldn't be so sure about 'Renault don't need a pay driver" part - according to various noises their 2010 budget will be smaller than in previous years so they certainly won't mind getting some additional money. Whether he will push Kubica or not is an open question, he seemed to be good enough in GP2.

Petrov should have done a better job in 2008, when di Grassi came into his team he already achieved more points than Petrov after 3 or 4 races despite missing the first few rounds. He was OK in 2009 but I wouldn't give him a race seat when there are better drivers around like Heidfeld, Sato and Grosjean.

In the meantime here is explanation of crash test fail:

QUOTE
First, the R30 has failed the crash test ... there are about 3 weeks. While last year's Renault was informed about similar concerns with the R29, the favorite team to make this time a low profile. In this case, the concern is reached at the crash test front of the car, because tests on the flanks and rear were all successful.

Reportedly, this setback is due to the desire of the Renault F1 engineers to lighten as much as possible their car in order to distribute as they please as much ballast as possible. Thus, the nose has been strengthened, and since the R30 has passed all the steps leading to its approval. Besides, the team has continued during the month just past, a rate of intense development. It has however been somewhat disrupted by the snow that hit England in recent weeks, but not enough to delay the smooth running of operations. The design of the R30 is on schedule.

As you could learn from the mouth of Robert Kubica. The first frame of the R30 is not yet 100% operational, but will be on Monday if everything goes well. The meteor probably go to Valencia on Wednesday, while the Polish driver will cast his bucket on Monday or Tuesday.

In short, expect to R30 much lighter than the R29, in which the team can optimize the placement of ballast.

But since the minimal weight is increased, doesn't the weight intself and possibility of balast placement is not so more important anymore?

Nah, I don't think so. Firstly because as soon as arguments will become more personal than on topic I'm sure mods will clean up this mess. Secondly, I didn't notice polish-german flamewars, so why would be russian-polish?

There weren't any Polish-German flamewars so it should be okay, but on the other hand, the relations between Poland and Russia are much worse and with more prejudice than between Poland and Germany.
