Arthur
I see the organisers have reintroduced the parade lap for us old timers who still like to get our leg over. However the entry fee has more than doubled and £200 for a 1 lap canter seems a bit excessive to me considering you also have in excess of £500 ferry charges for a vehicle and passengers which is essential to get a classic bike there.

Yes , Arthur , that does seem extortionate , another case of the entertainer paying to entertain , I guess .
To me , you should only have to pay a token ammount , to cover costs , for the ' parade ' , I wonder if Rossi and Ago had to pay to ' parade ' a couple of road bikes , perhaps I ought not to have wondered ohwell.gif

Wasn't there a problem developed recently, Arthur, where the parade had to shuffle along in second and third gear in a series of bunches behind marshalls ? Quite inappropriate for the machinery, and any spectators who would wish to hear the old machinery individually, and at any sort of meaningful speed. Not that many years since Lutonboy went round in the parade at over 100 mph from a standing start on a TZ350. They seem determined to nobble it... rolleyes.gif

That's the only solution IMHO, as said previously by Glen the parade last year was a farce and why anyone would pay an exorbitant sum of money for the dubious privilege of taking part is beyond me.

I've always been against paying to get my leg over on principle.

Hi Phil
Been around here but i can't keep up with the www , as soon as i see someone i think i know two people have posted the right answers drunk.gif
Not sure what you mean about the age issue, Do you mean for the Manx or the Parade lap confused.gif
For the Parade lap any pure road racing bike should be allowed up.gif (NOT ROAD BIKES down.gif wave.gif ) and any age of rider .
Your still young enough for the Manx up.gif clap.gif clap.gif

Chris , what I meant was on your original posting , it was worded to imply that all riders to do the ' Manx ' rather than the over-priced parade , which for some exotic machines , and of course , exotic pilots would not be practical , I think wave.gif
