I guess the MB has a super difusser waiting for the first race. It sounds like Charlie Whiteing has said ok but I expect the protest will start the first day it is bolted on.

I heard from a poster in another thread that it will be a blown diffuser, designed by an ex-Brawn employee!
I would take a bet on that.
Honda/Brawn/Mercedes has had the time to develop a version 2.0 diffusor concept. Is it possible interaction between the track surface and the diffusor, along with its effects to the rest of the car, can be accurately replicated using only CFD and wind tunnel analysis? They have a big and nifty wind tunnel. Perhaps Ross' crew has come up with something extra special. If so, why give the others a sneak peak and two weeks to try and replicate it?

It all sounds like bullshit to me. People are hyped up to see Schumacher back and newspaper rumours like this take advantage of it.

Here is the inherent problem of internet rumour, you write like there is some magical mystery to diffusor technology when there isn't and hasn't been for a very long time, the only thing about the current cars that has some level of intrigue is the use of a space that was not deemed usable by some teams 12 months ago and now is, and since the FIA gave its blessing all of the teams are looking at ways to maximise the space available, this does not inherently change the way a diffusor works, it does not mean the Double Diffusor was anything special to begin with aside from the smart interpretation of the rules the technology is and has been there for some decades now.
If the teams are all currently getting use of the maximum amount of space to create the maximum amount of downforce without the drag liability then the only reason we will see different diffusor configurations in not because something there has changed fundamentally its because space has been made available to be exploited from another car part development or an aero upgrade requires the diffusor to be redesigned to fully integrate with the new.

Well that stands to reason as Mercedes has a lot of experience with this from their early days with McLaren.
Ah, wait... that was blown engines. My mistake.
What happened to Ferrari's rumored B-Spec chassis that's supposed to incorporate Toyota's latest diffuser exploitation?? Maybe Brawn won't be alone. However judging by the earlier Ferrari rumors, this new radical diffuser required a partial redesign of the hind end, therefore Brawn's supposed secret design may not be as easy to replicate as some suggest.

Renault will have a new diffuser too, and it's going to be radical so much that

Everyone's throwing updates onto the car for Bahrain, diffuser development will be key this year too, but the rules are clear and stretched to the limits already, the holes in the floor getting bigger and bigger (which not necessarily equals to better and better), decks interact with beamwings and exhausts more and more, but this is nothing new.
Pedro de la Rosa doubts Mercedes is set to shock the F1 world with another radical concept.
"Now all the cars have a super diffuser and there will be no surprises because the rules have been stretched thin by the engineers," said the veteran.
I think he was inspired by a Brawn-interview that I read on a website. Brawn said that Mercedes will bring a new diffusor, and that, while all the teams have been checking back with Whiting, he could imagine that teams would protest each other.
With a bit of imagination you could do an interpretation that the OP did.
